Default Short Tails/Straight Pipes.

Aren't short tails and straight pipes pretty much the exact same thing? From the looks its seems to be the case. Can someone clear this up? If it's already a thread, I couldn't find it. Thanks.

Short tails still use the resonators on the mid pipe. Straight pipes would sound awful.

Short tails refers to the axle back portion which is just straight.

Our S-LINE midpipe includes 2 resonators in the system (remember it's a 2 part system with an H-pipe and the intermediate section)

Khoi, i have a question on these two items. (short tails and s-line midpipe)
I did see the gains with these two are paired which are great.

Do the short tails sound louder with the s-line midpipe vs stock?
Does the s-line midpipe have a better control on the drone?

Honestly the volume doesn't really get louder, the exhaust note just changes a bit, and during idle you can really hear that you have a full catback. Essentially with both you'll have a straight pipe catback, thus the gains. The 2.5" h-pipe (true dual) design is really where you see the gains on non-nismos

Over stock? I wouldn't say so, without any mufflers in the system the drone is going to be there

disagree strongly.

all i have (right now) is carbon fiber mufflers. no resonators and no cats. it sounds great. i'm also in the process of making my own short tails to delete my mufflers and have true straight pipes.

To each their own. Straight piped 370z are LOUD as FACK.

But FPenvy, you've always enjoyed being a little bit louder and faster then everyone else

look up my setup. Momentum headers, Z1 test pipes, and lite speed racing cat back. basic ally a muffler delete. I wish I would've gone with the Aam comp setup though for the true dual but the lite speed is a lighter.
