Lets play devils advocate and use a Stillen set up as an example. Their headers are $695 w/ t304 stainless steel. Z1 is offering their Momentum clone headers at $895 and for $1033 you get test pipes as well. Add 370z test pipes ($269) to the Stillen headers and you are at $964. You are telling me you would rather save $69 to make less power? If you are going through the effort of installing headers on a 370z you might as well do it right as it is very labor intensive. I could see if you already have 370z HFC or TP being somewhat disappointed as you will have to sell your current hardware.. but I am sure they will sell fast on the forums here for a large percentage of what you paid.

Lets not forget barring a few sets that were dumped when momentum was firesaling inventory they sold these headers for $1,299.

I think you guys should be happy z1 has managed to secure the jig, do R&D, and release this setup for an affordable price. And if you still have stock cats the additional $69 dollars price difference over a very nice set of headers from stillen (that make less power) is a steal. We all know you can throw money at these cars to make NA power but $69 is an oil change for these cars.

*all prices taken from z1 website.
I am not trying to get in a pissing match with you. With the flange being different why get rid of parts you already have just to make something work. Im stuck with over 2Gs of parts for a KA24DE that I cant get rid of because I tried to make something work. Why get rid of something that is already there or bought. I agree with you as I have stated it is awesome that the headers are here.
Also as stated they are going to come out with a different flange so it is not a big deal, as stated by John "Be patient as we will have the 370Z flange soon".

I did not mean to single you out. It was meant to be for the whole thread. I have removed your quote from my post.

The whole why remove something that is already there or bought comment is easily answered. Because Racecar. When people switch to FI setups they have to replace some bolt ons they have already installed to accomplish those goals. If you want to wait for the 370z style flange then more power to you. Others who want to take advantage of the best bolt on power increases we have seen for this platform will want to go with the current setup now. I am assuming Z1 will not be able to keep the price as low on the 370z flange style headers due to additional R&D / increase in production costs for a separate inventory item. It will be interesting to see what they go for and if it is cost effective in the end vs using VQ35DE parts.

As far as the KA24DE parts you can't find anyone who wants to turbocharge their stock motor in a 240sx? I thought that was the FOTY for 240 guys?

If they came out with the 370z flange not one person complaining now would still buy. I see this all the time here. People want, want, want till the product comes then bail when it gets here. Everyone wanted the Momentum headers after they sold out and now you have the same exact thing and you complain about it. It's almost like waiting for tires (headers) to come out and complain they came with air instead of paying $20 extra for nitrogen (TP's).

Hope you people don't build a racecar. You'll be in a world of custom hurt.

Well to you sir, I have money set a side for this ever since the rumor started. Either I will go with these or get long tube headers. For the rest of your statement it is dead subject. Either wait for the flange and hope for the best or just buy the DE kit.

Please put my quoted comment back in your post, maybe someone when they search for this topic will laugh about the entire situation.

I think this thread was to give people the heads up on what Z1 was brining out for our members, and Thanks SPOHN

Now people have had plenty of opportunities to posts their concerns pro and cons

And it seem things have been made clear as to what people are buying.

A good setup in my opinion

As the OP, If SPOHN feels its run its course? He has the ability to close it.

Anymore squabbling, And I'll just close it myself.

Back on topic!

If it wasn't for me being in Cali having to worry about the sniff monster? I'd have a set

I don't see what they would have to laugh about... I apologized for quoting you and making a scapegoat out of your post. You just happened to be the most recent complaint. Please move on from this thread . Thank you chris for posting this thread and enlightening the370.com masses. I am in the funding stage to pick these up and pair them with Motordyne art pipes + the Nismo OEM catback. I think it is going to sound perfect. Aggressive but not too loud.. If it is close to the 330whp mark the z1 mule car hit with Nismo exhaust I will be happy.

yea, the cali visual inspection will most likely NOT catch the shorty headers. stock cats should be do-able to pass smog alone. wish this had the 370z flange

Yea I'm gonna wait for the 370Z flange too. Too much hassle to look for stock DE cats when smog comes.
