Im waiting on the resonators to come in as well (order #75). Getting might anxious over here! I have RTPs + 18" resonators with SS mufflers going on. I hope the sound is to my liking, some mention the 18" resonators are too conservative but Im hoping with the RTPs it will be just agressive enough without being obnoxious.
Can anyone else with this exact combination (RTPs + 18" resonators SS mufflers) chime in? |

I'm looking at getting the exhaust soon, but I noticed it hangs really low to the ground. Has anyone noticed scraping or any other problems due to this? Thanks

^ man, I was thinking the same thing... The way I drive and the roads around here: I'm bottoming out all of the time even in the the back... There's a few intersections around here where the cross roads are elevated so the bump at the end tends to scrape the back if you go to fast. I was thinking about this the other day when it happened to me. I would ripped this exhaust clean off by now, but that prolly just me.
|
Actually, the lowest point on this exhuast is about 6-12" behind the rear wheels. If you look at the departure angle the tips will drag first and this will happen with any exhaust with 4" tips.
What you have to watch out for is tall speed bumps, objects in the road, or strategically placed and deep potholes. Which hopefully you are already watching out for with such a low car.;) Still have not heard of any issue with scraping though.:twocents: |
I hope I didn't give the impression that they will scrape...I think after almost 200 pages of this with all good reviews no one should worry!! Fast Intentions has done a bad A$$ job with all of their parts so far....and the customer service seems like it can't get any better, so I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong here.
edit: I guess I did kinda give that impression, but I drive like I stole it and I know of 2 intersections where it happens to me... yet I've done it like 3 times... Haven't even looked under my car because I'm afraid it will piss me off |
^ well Im sitting pretty low on coilovers right now and will have the FI CBE installed within a week...if anyone scrapes I will:icon14:

I'm getting it regardless since I haven't heard any bad new from others yet. |

The S-Tune is pretty loud with the HFC's....but I heard about the F.I. and fell in love. It looks better, has better gains, and its much deeper w/o the hfc...which I am still adding also :) Just got rid of my nismo cbe and hfc's for $500...had to get rid of them! Put stock back on til my new exhaust is delivered (sounds so boring now haha)

If you are worried about scrapping, just have Tony add some skid plates on the mufflers (lowest part). In the NE, the roads can be bad, and once I lower the car, I have concerns, so I had him weld in some for me. This will prevent any premature failure of the exhaust cans - he welds them on the lowest part, and then polishes them. You won't even know they are there, and you are protected. See pics

That's pretty sweet. I didn't know he did that.

Nismo370 #091 and Shultea1 #092, thank you for the orders.
I have some resonators coming today and that will take care of #075 & #076. #077 and #079's systems are completed with the exception of the X Pipe due to the fact that we are waiting on the rest of the shipment of resonators. I am, told that I will have them in hand by the middle of next week. Again, I appreciate everyones patience...
