These are Edmunds numbers, not mine... but Edmunds inside line also gives the 370z a 13.3... what is so hard to understand about that? Your VTEC ain't no turbo yo lol... In all seriousness... Honda makes a FANTASTIC car, but the civic in it's current form is never going to come close. I just wish people would understand what class their cars are in and if you want to race or show off... go to the track. |

Really would depend on how much boost they were running and how well they could hook up... obviously an FI Civic is much lighter so it has an advantage there... FI vs FI wouldn't be even worth the race.
My Fiancee and I have a 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 and it's quick... it's not as quick stock as the Z is stock.... it's also a 2.3 L I4 and it's got a lot of torque... with an SRI it gains about 20 whp as it is VERY restrictive stock set-up... after that though fuel pumps have to be changed. I remember and maybe this doesn't apply anymore, but it USED to be apporximately what? 10 hp for each 1/10 of a second on the 1/4? Anyway, anytime you have a car that starts off with more power, you are going to have an advantage and the Z can run low 12's without an FI set-up. My roomate has an Evo 8 with cams, intake, exhaust, etc, etc, everything but a turbo upgrade 383 whp on a Mustang dyno... I think he said he has about 15k in his car and he ran a 12 flat with a 1.8 60 ft. So with all of the NA Z mods to be able to run a low 12 to me isn't to bad IMO. By the way i'm no expert so anyone who sees if i'm wrong please do correct me. |

That's true and I'll deal with that when the time comes. I just love a loud great sounding exhaust, it's music to my ears!

F.I. just made a few changes to their new exhausts and they now have more clearance than before... I would always be careful with bumps and such though... but I would even with a stock exhaust.
