So,
Those who have already installed their exhausts: have yall accidently rubbed/scraped/bottom'd out on bumps and humps or any other occasions?

According to Tony and this thread the FI exhaust does NOT sit 3 inches lower than stock, its much less than that. If I remember correctly its less than an inch lower, like 3/8ths of an inch or something.

My number is coming up! :happydance:

^^ That is correct, according to Tony's documentation.

However, I believe the issue here is that the lowest points of both exhausts (stock vs FI) are not in the same place. I haven't received mine yet so I'm not 100% sure. But the stock's lowest point seems to be right in the middle of the rear wheels....meaning, whenever the wheels ride over something (driveway, speedbump, etc.), the exhaust is lifted in relation to the wheels. FI's lowest point on the other hand appears to be a little further back.

Wow, HP Logic just called me at the last possible second to say they can't do my exhaust today. This was a major scheduling inconvenience for me to be able to take half a day off today to get this done. Now I got all the hardware just sitting in my car and half of a PTO day wasted. Can anybody in South Florida install HFC, CBE and Sways TODAY?! Please let me know ASAP!

Aww man that sux! I know you were anxious and ready to go to! There are a few shops here in Tampa that might be able to help you out. My exhaust and TP will be here tomorrow! I am getting it installed Sat morning. I will PM you.

Diocletian 05-20-2010 09:40 AM

Tampa is a 3 hour drive for me unfortunately, but thanks anyway.

Viera 05-20-2010 10:10 AM

^^Thought you were getting them installed tomorrow? That sucks man...

It was moved because of a scheduling conflict on my part, HP Logic insisted that Thursday was perfectly fine for them. I would basically have to wait 2 weeks to get them to install it now because apparently there's only ONE guy there that handles the work and he's going on vacation. I could MAYBE try for a Friday morning install but I got a client appointment at 2PM and since they quoted me 4 hours for the install(and they open at 10AM) that's too close for comfort.

I'm already on the look out for someone else to do this install.

Found another place a former member recommended that's actually right down the street. I confirmed that they have infact worked on a few 370z's and they even said they can install it today for $275! I'll be sure to post some pics when it's finished.

oo7mech 05-20-2010 02:26 PM

thanks to those that responded. Hard decision...grr

Looks like they're making sure everything is aligned correctly. I got some pics of it on the lift, this system look AMAZING! I can't wait to hear/drive it!

Just a quick review: This exhaust is AWESOME. It's the exact sound I wanted, it's loud but not overly so. I've also been told it will get quieter in the next few days as it breaks in. The place who did my install were very professional and they even let me see my car on the lift! I got to watch as they took the extra effort to make sure the exhaust was flush, straight and symmetrical. They did an awesome job, and they completed the HFC, CBE and Sway bar install in just under 3 hours.

The performance increase is something else, I notice a definite gain throughout the power band and the throttle response is quicker. I'm sure once the ECU has time to adjust it will be even more responsive. I do notice the hiss(which is very subtle so I don't mind) and the drone at around 75-80mph. I can deal with it and I was told this will also become less severe of the next few days.

Final Verdict: I'm VERY impressed with the design, fit and finish of this product. You did a damn good job Tony, kudos to you. :) Also the mechanics mentioned that it was one of the best fitting exhausts they've worked on and they have done quite a few installs on 350/370z's and G35/G37's.

Now for a few crappy camera phone pics!
