Ok granted, on a cold start, yes it is LOUD and proud, but after 30 seconds it quiets down, and after a minute it quiets down even less than with HFCs. It stunned me as well. But it's true. At highway speeds you barely hear it, and then when you Want to hear it (you get on it), you will. But it is not at all obnoxious or ridiculously loud as one would think. They did a very good job with these.

LOUD and proud :) it stuns me too that it quiets down less than the HFCs. I'm going to have to check it ;)

Next time I'm in Cali, I'll pull up next to someone who has HFCs and we'll do a cranking vid.

LoL If someone told me there were no gains in getting my headers, I would seriously just laugh at them. There are plenty of gains. They obviously never looked at a dyno or did a side by side run with them.

When I did my Dyno, I picked up no less than 20hp from the headers/cbe. And I'm not done yet. I still have yet to get a full intake/tune. So there's only more power to be had. Thats when you Really see the full gains of the headers is with a Tune.

The problem is you sacrifice a bit of Top End to gain in the Bottom. Sure you might not have 305hp vs 298hp but the area under the curve from before/after you gain 10+ hp in the midrange which is where its actually used. This is a plus to me. Power isn't just about the number you End at. It's about how you get there.

:iagree: about the gains from the headers. I believe FL4_Motion dynoed 330 just with the FI LTH & CBE which is pretty darn impressive!

Hey, I hear what you say about the power not being simply about the number, as long as I get there this way throughout the powerband... I'm straight

With headers you'll have some unburnt fuel in your exhaust gasses, you just have to ignite it. Those kits are basically a spark plug that you drill into the side of your tailpipe, and a small ignition coil and controller with a pushbutton wiring kit to fire up the spark plug.

That kit I linked comes with everything you need for dual exhausts.

that's correct, my after dynos on a superflo dyno (same one we baselined on) was 326whp unloaded (dynojet equiv) and 329 whp loaded. Our baseline unloaded was 296...so a 30whp gain from just F.I. ceramic coated LTHs and F.I. non resonated CBE.

birdmanx1 06-03-2011 06:32 PM

Awesome numbers dude with the tune you'll probably near or go past 350... NICE

thanks man. Next up performance mod wise will be K&N drop ins w/post maf tubes and uprev. Hoping for 335whp with those mods. If motordyne ever comes up with a good intake option(they've said they'll eventually devolp one) and it is worth the $$ over drop ins, I'll upgrade to that.

tiller 06-03-2011 07:10 PM

just installed my F.I cbe with 18" resonators and k&n drop in filters,wowwwww what a sound,fit and finish fantastic,very happy that i chose F.I cbe,next up supercharger:happydance::icon18:

8-9 weeks from the day the order is placed. At the time the order is placed all I require is a $200 deposit. The remaining balance will not be charged to you until your exhaust is built and ready to ship.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me directly...

Thank you, Tony

NewYorkJon34 06-04-2011 01:33 AM

Trust me Ryan, it will be worth the wait

Oh I know. I love my exhaust but the rasp from the test pipes is getting to me now. The FI Carbon is an amazing exhaust. Debating whether or not to buy one of these or put mine up for sale/trade first.

I'll be getting an UpRev tune on the 18th at HP Logic. Well, the 18th is what I'm shooting for.

Call Tony. I've heard he's a great guy to deal with and makes everything easy as could be.

Captainstevo 06-04-2011 09:19 AM

Just installed my FI exhaust last night. All I can say is....WOW! This thing sounds absolutely amazing. No sound clips that I've heard so far do it justice. I'm hoping to upload some pics/video soon.

zFire 06-04-2011 11:20 AM

Fast Intentions is the total package.

I received my HFC's and CBE a few weeks ago. Since I had several other things to do, I waited a few weeks to take everthing into my shop. Everything was in perfect condition, except for a couple of missing 2-bolt gaskets; though it is unknown whether or not my mechanic lost them in the shop.

No matter, though. I contacted Tony at F.I. and he shipped out via Two-Day Air a new pair, no charge. All I can say- THAT is customer service. Without going on a rant, I have to say that this is a nice change to increasingly common attitude among businesses that once the sale is made, the cash in hand, the deal is done- who cares.

THEN- I got the exhaust installed, and I think I actually had that goofy grin I hear so much about on this forum as I heard the growl for the first time.

Nice job Tony and Fast Intentions staff. Nice job.

Nice sound recording there. Was that with stock cats + manifolds? It sounds a little different than HFCs/Headers, but it's still the best approximation of the real-world sound of the FI exhaust I've seen on youtube by far :).

Yep, everything is stock other than the CBE. And thanks! Good to know that four hours of my life wasn't wasted for nothing haha

Methodical4u 06-09-2011 05:33 PM

Hey guys... have you all by chance gotten a 370 on a dyno (or anyone else) with the exhaust and some good drop-ins with the tubes?

With K&N Drop Ins, Cobb post maf tubes, F.I. LTH's and CBE I netted 30hp over baseline. No Tune yet.

what's LTH?

Methodical4u 06-09-2011 06:18 PM

oh long tube headers I guess? 30 hp doesn't seem like that much... was it on a mustang or dynojet?

Yup Headers... Mustang Dyno. Dyno's weren't in 5th gear 1:1 ratio, but that just means I came out even better.

oh ok... well on the mustang that makes a lot more sense... I was going to say that all of those mods seemed like they would gain more power.

How much do you expect to gain from the tune? I didn't think the Z's made to much more power with a tune?

I wonder what kind of power I would gain with that set-up minus the headers. I'm not looking to spend a whole load of money... just a decent exhaust the the panel filters and the cobb tubes. Would it perhaps get me into the high 12's?

XwChriswX 06-10-2011 01:37 AM

I think the most common numbers we've seen from people is in the +15-20hp from a tune. But the biggest key is how it smooths the powerband out to where power comes sooner because you're not limited by the 0-60 limiter. And the map is adjusted for your mods so your engine can run better.

As for with those, high 12's should def be possible I would think...

ValidusVentus 06-10-2011 01:56 AM

Seems to me those are pretty respectable gains seeing as how it hasn't been tuned yet. Darn near 10% gain in HP.

I myself am seriously considering getting the FI CBE/HFC combo with 18" res, even the youtube recorded sound at WOT make me all :excited: inside. My only concern is about highway drone. Any of you guys that have this or a similar setup installed have an opinion? If this has been addressed previously in this thread, the thousands of replies have intimidated me beyond attempting to find it lol.

Nice job there Captain :tiphat:
