I am taking the car to the dyno today to get a baseline with:

-Stillen Gen III intakes
-F.I. High Flow Cats
-F.I. TDX cat back

Tomorrow I plan to go back and dyno the car with:

-Stillen Gen III intakes
-F.I. Long Tube Headers
-F.I. TDX cat back

If everything goes well, I should be launching the thread tomorrow evening. From there, we will have to get videos done and up.

Stay tuned...

Are these prototype headers have anything special about them - I mean, are they just straight tubes or do they have a resonator?

If they're just straight - I bet it'll be LOWD.

UPDATE-

I just got back from the dyno. The car performed FAIR! It has the following:

-Stillen Gen III intakes
-F.I. high flow cats
-F.I. TDX cat back

Now, you cannot compare the numbers from July to the numbers tonight. Mainly due to the fact that the temperature is a difference of 26 degrees. July it was 85 degrees and tonight it was 59 degrees. The barometric pressure is relatively the same and the humidity is identical.

So here is how a dynojet works as in terms of measuring power and as far as correction methods.

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) is the standard norm of measurement in the automotive industry for just about everything. Now in the case of the Dynojet it takes in to account the elements:

-Temperature
-Barometric Pressure
-Humidity

It works off of an optimum temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature outside was at that along with the other elements being optimum, the dyno in SAE form would correct little to not at all.

Uncorrected is as simple as it sounds. It measures the horsepower and torque of the car without taking any elements in to consideration. If its hot out, the car will make what it makes and the dyno will not correct. If it is cold out, the car will make what it makes without the dyno correcting. We always go off of SAE when we advertise. Like I said, that is the standard norm in the industry.

Now, with all of that being said, we were able to make 304.12 RWH and 251.36 FT LBS of torque tonight in SAE.

Changed to UNCORRECTED those numbers jumped to: 307.19 RWH and 253.90 FT LBS of torque.

As you can see, converting it to SAE caused very little correction due to that in these conditions tonight, it was closer to optimum opposed to last July in the heat of the summer. But before we dyno the car with the headers, we are going back tomorrow to dyno it with the stock intakes. You can never do enough testing and I want to make sure everything is right the first time. I quite possibly might get to the dyno twice tomorrow. So if that is the case, I should have dyno numbers for the headers tomorrow night. If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns on what I just wrote or does not understand it, please speak up and ask me. This is what we are here for, to help and inform.

On another note, one of our competitors is taking jabs at us. (They must feel very threatened by us)! They stated that they include mid pipe resonators free of charge, so my question to all of you is, if you decide to go with their system and do not want resonators will they give you an additional discount? Or, are they just going to overcharge you even if you do not want the resonators. See what it really boils down to is there is no one here remotely close to being anything like us! We give you options because everyone is different and everyone wants something different. We manufacture our exhaust systems in house so we have the ability to give you more options and make changes or modifications based off of ideas or customer suggestions. Said my peace!

Thank you, Tony

I like you Tony, and I like your product. Whether I end up purchasing the FI exhaust over another brand is still up in the air, but I definitely like my options so far. I certainly can appreciate your candidness and availability directly to your customers.

However, statements like these aren't really necessary. In that "competitor's" thread, they merely stated that resonators are included at no additional cost. They didn't say "unlike other vendors, our resonators are free!" or "other vendors charge extra for resonators, unlike us!".

There are no less than a dozen exhaust companies trying to sell their product on these forums, whether directly or through well known vendors like Forged or Amplified. You can say things like no one has a product like yours, but so can 10 of those other 12. Where yours may have more power, another company may have less drone. Where yours may be lighter, another company may be more stylish.

I guess what I'm saying is, your exhaust sells itself. Your dynos, videos, and reviews do much more than putting down another company.

I like you too and I understand where you are coming from. However, I know when someone is taking a stab at us whether it be directly or indirectly. I have history with that person and company and it is not good. It goes way deeper than just this exhaust system. So when I hear or see a comment from them directed towards us I will say something. Although I do agree this or any forum or any other should not be a public place for people to air their frustrations with other people. If you have a problem PM it to me. Don't take jabs to try and make your system look better. I know you do not see it that way and you may think I am reading too much into it, but like I said, I know what he was getting at as soon as he wrote it. There is no love loss here. As far as the other vendors go, I have no issues with anyone, in fact Amplified Motorsport, GTM and Forged Performance all buy products from me. As far as our system, I agree it does sell itself and we would love your business. On the flip side, if you decide to go another route I will understand that is well. SO with all of that being said, if I offended you then I apologize...

Thank you, Tony

I'm sure you are familiar with the s197's and how finicky they are when you start playing with intakes and exhaust, so I am wondering what kind of A/F ratios you are seeing with all the mods and how well the computer is adjusting (may not have enough miles to know)

Anyways I am just wondering how much all this is affecting things.

So for those of you guys that have the Catback and the HFC's on their car...How much louder will the car get when both are installed? I have the CBE on right now, just wondering what i should look forward to, as in volume and performance gains. Thanks Guys. BTW the exhaust is great just wanting it to be a little louder.
