I know we will hear a big difference, but I wonder if we will fell a big difference going from the Nismo exhaust to this one. I wonder how restrictive the Nismo exhaust is in comparison.

I have a TDX installed and have had ZERO scrape issues. Granted my car is a Stock height NISMO, but I have to battle above ground drainage, speed bumps from hell, and cattleguards / pop up barriers (Fort Hood / West Fort Hood). Here's a link to their webpage detailing the exhaust components:

http://www.fastintentions.com/index....th=41_45_54_55

Hope that helps..............

All price breakouts can be found on the first post depending on what setup you want.

As for scraping, I'm lowered (1" all around) on K&W V3's and haven't scraped them once. I know a lot of people complain about it, but as long as you approach whatever the obstacle is at a decent speed and angle, you'll never have a problem. I scrape the front end sadly but never the backend.

Mark Gomez 04-25-2011 02:19 PM

I agree 100%. After driving in all kinds of conditions and being lowered over 1 inch, I have not yet found a situation where the FI exhaust came close to scraping. I think many make it out to be a much bigger deal than it really is.

If you are slammed, then sure you will have clearance issues I'm sure. But if you are slammed, scraping the exhaust is generally the least of your concerns IMO.

paigeone 04-25-2011 06:43 PM

I'm dropped on swift springs 1inch drop in the rear and haven't scraped so far. The lowest part of the exhaust is about 3.5 inches from the ground. The only time I ever scraped I think is when I hit a high speed bump a bit too fast and that was when I was stock height. The small scrape on the bottom edge of the CF cans are barely visible from anywhere but directly underneath the car. I didn't even see it until I felt for it with my hands.

I've had my exhaust almost a year with around 24k miles so far and one guy at a dyno day I went to on Saturday asked how long I've had my exhaust because it looks brand new. He was shocked I told him a year almost with 24k miles on it.

The clearance issue is really limited to slammed cars and those who like to speed through speed bumps lol

Mark, that sounds about right. Mine took 8 weeks as well, but boy do I love it. It makes the car.

The FI catback is a breeze to install, you should have no problems if you've got some 14mm tools handy :)

Fatalsports 04-27-2011 05:21 PM

FL 4Motion 04-28-2011 10:51 PM

Installed and loving it!

Well, the FI CF CBE w/ FI ceramic coated LTH's are on the car. Wow. pulled up to the shop and our buddy had the car on the lift. It is was a beautiful sight. Fitment was spot on, equal amount of room betwn the tips and the bumper on both sides and it sat perfectly level. My only "complaint" would be that for the nismo, with the bigger bumper, that the tips protrude about two inches farther out, but from behind, it looks perfect. In fact, it's actually more subtle looking than the stock nismo exhaust with the large muffler since the CF "disapears into the car when viewed, especially when the car is moving. Followed my wife home in our Xterra so I could see and hear the car.

Speaking of sound, we got the unresonated xpipe and combined w/the headers and the CF mufflers, this is the lightest and also the loudest combo. It's very loud at startup, that diminishes in about 30 sec or so when the revs come down and at idle, def has that "muscle car" vibe to it. Wifey said she never went above 3500 rpms (was under 3K most of the time) and i could hear it being the car directly behind her with the windows up and my oem rockford fosgate system blasting metallica and slayer lol. It sounds very aggressive, but not ricey, but this setup is def not for the faint of heart.

Fit and finish get a 10/10
Sound gets a 9/10
Performance gets a TBD (will be dynoing the car in a couple weeks once we get a few 100 miles on the new setup to allow the ecu to compensate)

Satisfaction gets a 9.5/10

Couldn't be happier with this exhaust setup. Thanks again Tony for bearing with me wiht all my questions etc.

PS--tony, now you need to make a good quality CBE for the 2nd gen Xterra man.

Vegitto-kun 04-29-2011 04:43 PM

finally got a better vid up of the drag at zolder.

tsolin01 04-30-2011 01:05 AM

Well it was bound to happen, took a speed bump too fast and finally scratched one of the mufflers... doesn't look too bad and hopefully I can buff it out but still pretty depressing

How far are you lowered?

tsolin01 05-01-2011 01:12 AM

About 1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear. Lowest part of the exhaust sits 3" from the ground. The funny thing is i didn't scrape that part but the passenger side muffler towards the top near the tips. That would be consistent with going over the speed bump fast but at the time I didn't really hear anything... oh well.

BigRoc 05-01-2011 12:15 PM

So my exhaust is sitting in my garage right now waiting to be installed. I am wanting to install it myself but I do not have access to a lift. What is the best way to get the car off the ground for good clearance so I can do the install? Get some ramps and jack the other end of the car up?

I really wanted to lower my car an inch after I get my exhaust, but now im scared. Why does the wheel gap have to be so bad? LMAO.

Back it up onto some Blitz ramps.

Recieved notice that my exhaust is shipping and will be here May 4th!! installed my HPS tubes and drop in K&N filters yesterday now just waiting for the exhaust to get here. After that straight to have the clear bra installed. havent driven her in over a month, waiting to install everything at once.

christian370z 05-01-2011 11:44 PM

I shot a pretty long video this weekend to show how the G3/HFC/FI combination sounds at WOT and in everyday mixed city and highway driving. I looked forever to find videos that not only showed how the car sounded at WOT, but also in regular driving before I bought my FI but couldn't find much so hopefully this helps someone!
