That work and heartache would transform into beautiful, ear-shattering, pants-soiling, panty-dropping, steez-staining, soot-leaving, fire-making, power-producing noise.

Although it's all hard parking unless you track it.

Plus you have the opportunity to produce a unique exhaust which may eventually end up being an "off-the-shelf" mod, although it's quite a lot of work to make the mod work.

If you give up on that, though, running long tubes with the developing AAM exhaust for the short tails pretty much gives you straight 2.5" piping with almost no resonation.

mine is pretty much brutally loud as is now. even though it has its tame side at idle but you smack that gas with the windows down and your in the lane against the jersey barrier it makes your ears ring no joke.

i actually have a secret plan forming right now for a winter project :stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot::stirthepot:

Screw the pictures, it's all about videos and in person demos with exhausts. I expect both from you sir :tiphat:

well for one i have to decide on if i am gonna do this and winter still is 1 to 2 months away depending on the weather. last year my Z went away last week of november before i left for hawaii since it wasnt very cold nor snowing lol

and if i do attempt this yes there will be pics and if i complete something there will be video. no promises this is just an idea i have been thinking about.

Kingbaby 09-18-2012 03:46 PM

It's not a bad idea...you'll need some unnesscary bends to help with back pressure and cone style tip!

Which may be hard to squeeze underneath the Z...easiest is LTH into a y-pipe to a cone off to the side!

370Z Purist 09-18-2012 04:19 PM

perhaps you should break the mold and join the motor headers into a single 3 or 3.5 inch section and have it go directly to the rear and then split, or do a single pipe exiting into however many tips you want, a la Corvette or 458 Italia or Cooper S or whatever. does create a want for backpressure though.

sounds good in theroy but 3" is too big for N/A set-ups. 2.5" holds good back pressure. im thinking still running true duals but just eliminated my muffalers for starters.

370Z Purist 09-18-2012 04:28 PM

If there's an exhaust that is truly true dual, i.e. each bank has its own exhaust and the pipes never join, maybe that will do something. I'm just throwing ideas out here now.

my current exhaust is true duals. left header straight to the tip and right header straight to its own tip. no crosses or meeting points.

you guys have some balls.

i custom welded resonators to my short tails after a few days.

way too loud for my taste
