Default K&N Typhoon + Megan Test Pipes + Tune

2012 Nismo with 700 miles on the odometer. 106 degrees during dyno pulls.

Installation of parts and tuning was done by Jotech Racing in Garland, Texas.

Mods:

K&N Typhoon Intake
Megan Racing resonated test pipes

Dyno #'s after mods without any tuning:

278 RWHP & 228 RWTQ

Dyno #'s after mods with tuning:

301 RWHP & 245 RWTQ

I was running on a tight schedule so we skipped the dyno of the car when it was stock so that the guys could get right to work taking off the cats.

I need to scan the dyno printout so that I can post it.

The power difference is very significant. Sound is nice and deep without being raspy and there is zero drone. Throttle response is MUCH better. Redline is now 8K. Engine does not feel like it's running out of breath anymore.

This combo is probably the best bang-for-your-buck mod you can do on a NISMO. I am very happy with it!

Very cool. Did Kenny do your tuning? If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for just the UpRev license and tune?

What kind of Dyno was this on? I only got about 6 wrhp increase on my Typhoon intake.

What kind of Dyno? Did you get a print out?

Below is mine bone stock w/990 miles on it, on a Dynojet 224x.

Thomas did my tune. Kenny was on the 4WD dyno tuning a billion horsepower GTR that sounded like it was going to devour anything that wasn't nailed down to the shop floor and spit it out its fire-breathing tailpipes.

Uprev license was $300 and tune was $450. Even though I only have very simple mods, Thomas spent almost 3 hours tuning my car and did about 15 pulls on the dyno. They definitely didn't just slap something together just to get me out of the shop, even though I only spent about 3% of what their normal customer spends there.

I'm not sure but it looked like a Dynojet. There are some pics of it here if it helps: Jotech Tuning | Jotech Motorsports

Not sure of the dyno; looked like a Dynojet but I could be wrong. (See link in post above)

I got a print out, but I need to scan it to post.

It was 106 degrees out so it was probably the worst day possible for making power. But the gains are there. The car is much more responsive and I could tell immediately after driving it that there was a significant increase in power.

Ya, Jotech uses a Dyno Jet. Kenny did the tuning on my S2000. Those are some decent numbers. I've got the K&N Typhoon too and once I get an exhaust I'm going to have him do the Uprev tune.

The proportionate gains are about right, although I think you are underrated on both by about 5 whp relative to dynojet values.

Nice -- congrats!

I think the heat plus the fact that my car is still breaking in help contribute to the lowish numbers. But the gains are definitely felt (and heard) behind the wheel.

They're only low by a few for a Nismo, which tends to dyno a bit higher than a regular Z -- those values aren't far off from what I'd expect.

The proportionate gains tell the tale, and they are spot on

Awesome gains, especially TQ. What does the CF say on the dyno's? I know mine were crazy with the heat and elevation where I live.

Thanks! And those "baseline" numbers are with the mods already on it so it's quite a bit faster than stock.

I didn't look at what the correction factors were and it's not on my dyno sheet. I know they used standard correction but I didn't ask for any details.
