I really, REALLY want to see a back to back comparison between stock nismo H-pipe and this one.

In my experience, most of the magic of the Nismo OEM CBE is that H-pipe, so it'll be telling.

You beat me to it. This is the unofficial press release I've been working on

AAM Competition 370z S-Line Midpipe

One of the bigger restricting components on the 370z is the exhaust system. Nissan figured this out when they redesigned the catback system for their Nismo 370z to adapt a more free flowing system which included, a redesigned H-pipe with dual outlets vs their Y-pipe with a single outlet, and a more free flowing muffler. With the revised exhaust system and a slight tweak to the ECU, Nismo 370zs gained 18 crank hp from the factory

With the success of the Nismo exhaust, AAM Competition took this one step further and designed the S-Line Midpipe, a true 2.5” exhaust system connecting the factory catalytic converters to the stock rear muffler. The factory Nismo H-pipe and intermediate pipe starts off at 2 1/8” from the factory catalytic converters, opens up to 2 1/4” at the intermediate pipe, then taper back down to 2 1/8” by the time it hits the muffler. Although we would never doubt Nismo parts, we took on the challenge of designing a larger and more efficient system. The S-Line midpipe has been dyno proven to gain +20 hp to the wheels and +19 ft lbs of torque over a stock 370z, equipped only with our short tails, all else stock!

AAM Competition S-Line Midpipe is handcrafted with mandrel bent 2.5” 16 gauge T-304 stainless steel. The system consists of a 2.5” H-Pipe and a 2.5” resonated intermediate pipe. This makes it perfect for those who want the added performance of an upgraded midpipe but want to keep the factory muffler to keep exhaust volume down, or those who already have our short tails and would like to continue the rest of their exhaust system.

• 2 component system; 2.5” H-Pipe and 2.5” resonated intermediate pipe
• Connects factory catalytic converter to stock rear muffler (Nismo or Non Nismo) or;
• Direct bolt on to AAM Competition S-Line Short Tails
• 2.5” mandrel bent 16 gauge T-304 stainless steel
• T-304 stainless steel flanges
• Precision TIG welded in house
• Dyno proven +22 wheel hp +20 ft lbs of torque
• All hardware included
• Made in USA

Nice. When you have back to back dyno results, let us all know. I'm sure there will be some customers..

The results above was from a stock base 370z with short tails (simply a muffler delete we offer). Granted this is a Y-pipe configuration into an intermediate pipe, so not a true dual from factory

Although the Nismos get +18hp from factory, it's not all from the exhaust, they also retweaked the ECU, I'm not sure of the specifics but when you physically look at the oem H-pipe and intermediate pipe, they look like straws!

If there are any local Nismos with stock exhaust on still and want to test this out, we can work on some discounts for you. I plan on doing a group buy for this, 0-5 sets, or 6-10 sets for a different tier discount. In return I hope everyone writes a reviews and hopefully everyone has a slightly different exhaust set up, whether they're running our short tails, stock muffler, stock cats, test pipes, hfcs, etc. Many options here

I have the Nismo OEM exhaust on my non-nismo 370, and while I must admit I never did a baseline with the stock exhaust, my baseline with the Nismo Catback and no other changes was 292whp. Talked it over with our contact inside NISMO NA and he pretty much confirmed the 'ecu tweak' is just a slighty altered fuel table for the exhaust.

That's why I'm interested to see what your H pipe can do, because more than one person has lost HP switching from the Nismo OEM CBE to an aftermarket true dual CBE.

Just found an OEM Nismo rear muffler in the shop, can't locate the OEM H-pipe/intermediate pipe though,

Really wanted to see what the numbers would be on the OEM CBE,

We're planning to do a baseline with our shop 370z, will be OEM Y-pipe/intermediate pipe to OEM Nismo muffler, then we will test out our S-Line midpipe on the OEM Nismo muffler to see the gains. This should give us a good comparison between S-line midpipe with short tails vs S-line midpipe with OEM muffler

Khoi if there could be some awesome deal worked out I could run a few different variations on my Nismo. As it sits I have my own custom made short tails and GENIII CAI. All stock besides that.
With the setup of just short tails I made 296.1 was my lowest of 3 pulls I have not re dynoed yet with the CAI yet.
I still have my oem Nismo muffler I could do a dyno with the new H-pipe to Nismo rear and then to my shorties also do a base pull with the Nismo exhaust completely back to oem.
Let me know if I can be of any help.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost you to get those custom short tails made? I'm thinking about doing the same to fit with my berk CBE.

No worries it was a little expensive just because all the bends are pie cuts and the custom angle down tip is all pie cut as well so there is no mandrel bends at all. But it was 425 I believe it was over a yr plus ago. I think in my pics I have some good clear pics of them. I like them because there one off.
Cheers!!

Yeah that does seem a bit expensive. Hopefully I can get it done for less, but thanks!

Yeah if you go normal bends then it will be a lot cheaper and if you go with a normal looking tip less labor less charge. Should be around 300. 00
