My only complaint is that the Sweet Sound of My Setup makes me keep my foot to the floor that is all :rofl2: hahahaha
|
Where am I?

What number are you? I ordered mine December 16th, I'm 904. I'm hoping to get it by mid February. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I ordered on Nov. 21st, but got bumped up by probably 10 numbers, as I took over a previous order. Don't care how long it takes, as long as it not rushed. |

Ordered 1/10 and was quoted 3/3-3/17 and I agree. I want the best of quality. This will be great. |

Tony, can you please message me a price for the non-resonated section of the system and approximate lead time? Thanks!
|
I'm #882, ordered back on October 22. Confirmed that mine is shipping out on Friday, January 24th! Cannot wait!
|
Finally was able to take the Z out on the interstate and I must say I LOVE this exhaust. I was concerned that 18" resonated would be too quiet, but I can still hear the purr of the exhaust while cruising. And any time I need to pass someone, music to my ears!
Thanks to Tony and the whole FI crew for making such a great product! |

So I saved two weeks by taking over another persons exhaust. Probably looking at early to mid February than.

A member ordered a new exhaust, but he found a used one for less. I was going to order one Decemberish, but he wanted to get out, so I figured I would help him out. Tony was nice enough to refund his deposit and I took his spot.
So even though I paid on Nov. 21st, I jumped to begining of November because that's when he ordered it. |
Good deal, man! I think my system is in the next batch in production! :excited:

I still have some questions. I notice a distinctive design difference between your 2.5" and 3" TDX. The 3" seems to use 3" TP in place of the downpipes, with the catalysers (100cell) now moved downstream into the lead pipes. On the 2.5" the cats still sit in the downpipes (factory positions), the lead pipes are thus straight (or resonated). I wonder why the cats moved into the lead pipes. Is it just more temperature-friendly? And since the 3" uses testpipes only, does the O2 bung extension on the TPs still prevent CEL? I'd be all up for going 3", not 2.5" if the only difference is better Turbo spool. Any sound differences considering both non-resonated? Most importantly I still wonder whether the 100cell cats pass M.O.T. here in the U.K. Problem is I don't know how modern cars are emission tested (I've had an OBD1 Prelude before) and my Z is still too new for M.O.T :p Do they actually sniff the emissions on the tailpipe (then the 100cells would surely fail?) or does the ECU merely give a pass/fail in which case one could trick the ECU into satisfaction? |

my poor FI exhaust :( I love it so much, but the beating is brutal. I'm gonna need new cans or another exhaust system with more clearance. |
Wtf is that all about?
|
Too slammed.
|
When the lowlife and having the best exhaust for our cars meet.
|
They are gen 1 cans, they hang super low :/

You should get skid plates welded on to the cans. |

I have responded to your pm. What a shame about the muffler. Our (version 2) will raise the front of the mufflers about 3/8" (if installed properly). I have outlined answers to your questions in my response. When you are ready, pleas give me a call. Thank you, Tony |
Tony, I appreciate the time you took for a great response.
I'm gonna talk to a shop and look into having it fixed with the addition of a skid plate. I am on BC coils and not super slammed. I fight giant steel road blocks on a military base daily. Yesterday, the angle wasn't perfect and it raped my can. |
Ouch :(
U may be lucky the steel hurdles didn't rip of half of your exhaust. Best of luck with the fixing. |
damn sorry man!

Fort Hood has the same above ground barriers that you speak of. If I were any lower, I would have issues with them as well. For future reference, try getting as close as you can to one side and let your outside tires ride over the knuckles that raise the barrier. You should clear that way.
Wait........are they the reverse spike strips or barriers? |
Barriers and I already use that tactic hahaha
|
Which P.O. numbers got their tracking numbers on Friday, January 17th?
|
#883 Still waiting on the call.. Hopefully the call comes next week..

There is no difference in design between the 2.5" and 3" versions. The 2.5" version can also have a full down pipe starting at the exhaust side of the turbo. What we do is start the down pipe in 3" and than smoothly taper it down to 2.5". You can run the 100 cell cats in either system. They are moved down further in the exhaust stream to reduce the amount of heat that they will see. They will hold up much better in that location and being that they are 100 cell, they will do very little to hinder performance. Mainly they quiet down the exhaust note and help reduce the raw fuel smell coming from the tail pipes. It is a safe bet to say that these cats will not pas your M.O.T. inspection considering that they are a race cat. The "J" bend anti foulers are in place to trick out the ECU and keep the CEL off. In the end, the 3" will be the way to go if you want to maximize turbo spool and reduce restriction. Achieving that zero psi back pressure on the exhaust side is imperative to maximizing performance. Think that this covers it for now. Thanks, Tony |
IS there an option to have the 2.5'' tdx setup with the cats further away like in the 3'' version? I'm thinking ahead in case I get your system and also have plans for some kind of FI. I understand the the 3'' is preferred but from my understanding, the 2.5'' may be better for torque due to some back pressure. I'm just not a fan of gas fumes and would rather not have to small it or inhale it if I don't have to. Sure I sacrifice some performance but that's something I'm willing to do.
