The last bend can make it tricky to get one of the bigger jacks onto the diff jack point without hitting the pipes. I use a wooden block to get in there, works fine. Just make sure it can sit squarely on the jack pad.:tiphat:

Install Day-
4AM wake up + 3HR drive to visit Tony and the Fast Intentions Team. I had anxiety the entire drive down there. Tony and the team really know what they are doing - their attention to detail is outstanding - really top notch quality hands down. You can tell that Tony truly cares about his customers and is passionate about his craft. Best investment ever! I could not be any more happy right now. The drive back home with the new exhaust was simply .... AWESOME!!!

Thank you Tony and the Fast Intentions Team !!

I wasn't sure but I have a stupid question, is it supposed to look like this? And both tips are touching the bumper.

Impossible to tell from this angle. If this is your car opposed to a picture you saw online, take a picture from a better angle so we can make a determination...The tips should not touch the bumper. I installed two systems last week and had about 3/16"-1/4" air gap between the top of the tip and bottom of the bumper.

Thanks, Tony

P.S. I received your email and will get back to you shortly.

no that is definitely wrong...you need to lose that dealer plate frame asap!:icon17:

Well, here is the problem I see from the pictures. It looks like the EVAP canister cover was never removed. I can see what looks like it in the picture above. What that tells me is whoever installed the exhaust system did not read the instructions that we sent with it! The cover needs to come off to allow the passenger side muffler to sit correctly.

Call me if you have any questions on this or anything else pertaining to the install.

Thanks, Tony

megalapagas 10-21-2013 10:05 PM

Could you email me a pdf of the installation process? I rather just do it myself. I sent you an email with the subject "PDF Request" so you can know its my email, Thanks a lot for helping me clear this I think this is a reason my car rattles a Little bit between 2500-3000rpm, it doesn't bother me but I knew something wasn't right. Thanks in advance tony

I've got the loudest setup now with non res carbon fiber and i love it.

thanks for the reply. I'm going to have a difficult time deciding on 12" or 18" in a few weeks. I'm assuming it is not a TON of difference only slightly louder. Hmm...

megalapagas 10-22-2013 01:29 AM

Go 12"^^ well I mean if volume isn't an issue? If not then go with 18" even thoigh your Z will still growl but I assume its way less less volume than 12" and of course Non-Resd... GL on deciding buddy either or they're beast xD

Hey tony just reporting back, I saw Speedy Garages video on youtube installing a F.I exhaust system and yes the evap canister is remove....I believe I have to add washers so it can level out because both tips are touching. Only thing I need to know is what size of washers or if anyone can direct me to a thread explaining this would Great and Appreciated!

It is rattling because it is sitting on the EVAP canister cover and not installed on the car correctly. If the instructions were not read, there is a good possibility other parts of the exhaust are installed wrong as well.

Email is now sent, you should have the instructions.

Thanks, Tony

Before you start adding anything, go through the instructions and make sure the exhaust is installed right. You should not need the washers. Like I said before, I installed 2 last week and an average of 4-6 per month. VERY RARELY do I ever need washers!

Thanks, Tony

Hey tony just giving you a finishing update, I followed the instructions and everything was up to par so my educated guess was correct and I added 2 washers on each bolt on both sides and now everything is leveled, thank you so man. On a side note thanks to the douchebag that installed my exhaust it burned a little of my bumper and some plastic stuck on the left side tip I took it off and cleaned as much as I could and I went and complained like seriously you have an INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL, I didn't do it myself cuz I didn't have the tools or lifters but you can bet I bought some like a few minutes ago lol.

Ok. I'm #850 and have a CF with 12in resonators and high flow cats on order. I've been making payments so I'm not stuck with such a large bill right before the holidays. I started listening to those wonderful exhaust notes on line again and am now considering non resonated instead of the 12in. If I change my mind and go with non resonated I will owe Tony $370 instead of $500. That's a great number. Could this be a sign. Ummmmm.

My friend, I'm #865.... It happened the same as you!!!! I started to listen again to online videos of the exhaust, and after ordered only the CBE w 12" resonated, I gave Tony a call and asked him if I could change my order....

You save some money, but I'll spend some more money, because I add the resonated test pipes to the order of the CBE, and change my Resonated CBE to Non-Resonated because of the nice sound when the throttle is down!!!!!!!!!

Tony is a well customer oriented guy!!!!!!!!!!!:driving:

Glad you got it taken care of, but sorry for the damage done to your bumper. I would definitely avoid this shop in the future, it is pretty hard to mess this install with how perfect everything fits with little to no massaging.

That's EXACTLY what I told them everything is there to install and I didn't have the tools or jacks stands to Do It Myself so I decided to rather pay and have It installed but its like they always say "If you want something done right you got to do it yourself". But now I'm a happy camper and that's all that matters, Grinning for Days with my Setup! :D

jlw,

I am 835 and have Non-Res HFS and 12" CF TDX coming. I can put some video/audio up on the forum if you like. If your like me you have already listened to 100's of clips so it might be a moot point.

Awesome. Please do because they all sound different when different audio equipment is used. Plus the background noise makes it difficult to hear sometimes.
I've searched hard for non resonated hfc with non resonated cf cbe and still haven't found it. maybe if I switch to non resonated cbe I will be the first lol

snowsurfdirtx 10-26-2013 11:34 AM

Tony, I have a complaint man.

My gas mileage has gone down

I can't keep my foot off the gas, it sounds too nice now that it's broken in. Windows down to listen has been getting chilly lately too. If the weather would get sunny one day this month I'll shoot some videos lol

I'll try and get some vids up as well if the 50's stick around this week(dang MN weather). I was in a HUGE debate between Resonated TP's or Resonated HFCs. I stuck with Resonated HFCs and a NONresonated Xpipe and damn....I wouldn't ever think twice about going any other route.

I ran RHFCs with 18" resonators in the xpipe on my G37s, but on the Z going with the NONresonated X, the tone/note is even more refined. Rather then a constant tone, it has the refined rumble which IMO is just straight sex to your ears, and makes it like no other exhaust on the market.

I'll hang one or 2 up as soon as mine comes. Hopefully it is in thr production phase this week. I was going to do a vid review of the exhaust ans some external mic's for the GOPRO. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a track day as well.

megalapagas 10-28-2013 07:00 PM

Alright man Sounds like a good deal! :)

tRidiot 10-29-2013 06:31 PM

I'm wondering... trying to do a lot of research, and don't want to start a new thread with something that is stupidly basic or already covered. :ugh2:

Currently I have Stillen HFCs, Motordyne XYZ pipe and Stillen CBE (all this terminology is new to me). I like the sound of the exhaust at idle, low-to-moderate acceleration, but when I really get on it, it seems VERY raspy to me. Maybe I'm unrealistic in expecting with a good amount of exhaust work that should have been taken care of?

I ran over a curb the first day I got the car (4 months ago) and was worried I might have damaged something, so i got it on a lift today and looked everything over. No obvious damage to any of the exhaust components, and they all look good. So I'm wondering what I can do to get rid of the rasp, but maintain a strong, low rumble. I hate the "bumblebee" sound you hear from some riceburners. What I have now is definitely lower, but still has an annoying rasp at high output.

I am considering buying a set of Fast Intentions LTHs. My ASSUMPTION is that the LTH will replace both my HFC and XYZ pipe? Then I can mount the Stillen CBE and see how it sounds, maybe swap out to something else later if I like?

Like I said, please be patient with me, all this exhaust and suspension stuff is brand new to me, and I am reading my arse off trying to learn, but the sheer volume of info here, while incredibly helpful, is also exhausting. But I'm learning a lot!

Thanks for any help you guys might be able to offer me!

jlw2546 10-29-2013 09:01 PM

Omg. My wife's stock G35 sounds so much better than my stock 370. Tony, please tell me you are ahead of schedule. I can't wait to hear the Vrooom. I'm planning a road trip down the coast to visit the folks in Florida for thanksgiving. It would be great to hear that awesome exhaust note for 12 hours instead of tire noise.
