1. Does your county/state have strict emissions laws?
2. Does your county/town have any noise ordinances?
3. Are you looking for most HP/$ or any particular sound?
4. Do you care about volume or in-cabin noise?
5. Is Rasp a problem for you?

Things to ask yourself when debating this... Knowing the answers can help your decision making.

TerribleONE 12-16-2012 03:53 AM

Tony call me with that dyno date as soon as you have it!

HFC will give you less Rasp, but TP's will give you more HP.

LTH's will give you less Rasp and more HP. :stirthepot:

Anyone with LTH's will tell you they are so worth it. Granted they aren't as cheap as HFC's or TP's, but cost doesn't really matter in the end to those who enjoy the sound and boost in low end after tunes.

ART pipes are TP's with a resonance chamber. That's all. Very similar to Resonated Test Pipes.

With the F.I. LTH's, I don't hear any rasp. I have the 18" res SS cbe as well. It's a slightly higher pitched (more exotic) sounding tone than with HFC's or TPs. And is actually quieter at idle than HFC's.

I know for a fact LTH's + 18" res SS CBE with Maf Tubes and Drop ins is 93.8dB @ 50ft @ full throttle.

Pause the video @ 1:05, 2:23, and 3:48, and you'll see the measuring apparatus to the left side of the screen.

Apparently they provide gains over traditional test pipes.

Still haven't seen enough independent dyno's to draw a conclusion though.

If you have the CBE alone it will Pass.

If you remove the stock cats and have them replaced with HFC's, depending on what cell count you get,
you could potentially not pass a sniffer test.

If you remove the stock cats and have them replaced with (R)TP's, you will fail a sniffer test.

If you remove the stock cats and have them replaced with LTH's, you will fail a sniffer test.

Yea I plan on just the CBE alone so I guess I should be good. Just wanted to avoid any inspection hassle. Thanks!

I've had my set up 6 weeks now and have nothing but great things to say about this exhaust. It is non res carbon and res hfc. It is loud and sounds amazing.

ANY FI combo will sound amazing.
