Is it really worth putting a Cold Air Intake on 370z and what HP gains

OK found an amazing deal on some short ram intakes.

I kind of want to buy them for ***** and giggles even though I'm going to supercharge my Z

Should I buy them or not it would be for pure sound and not the gains(assuming I do gain anything)

Also note these intakes are so cheap, if I sold them after buying them, I would probably make my money back.

Opinions?

unless its R2C, short rams are useless imho.

well, K&N short ram is okay since mr.alcheng uses it.

You'd be going from a cold air intake to a hot air intake. The K&N dyno numbers are suspect (idk what intakes you're looking at). Total waste IMO. Some Afe filters and silicone tubes would be way better, give you the sound you're looking for and are easy to sell when you're done.

here is the thing though, i already have drop-ins on my car and i dont have the sound im looking for, and as far as IATs go, the stock box will heat soak(from what i have noticed) if you're sitting there for a while but it will cool back down when you start moving, i figured the same thing will happen with SRI since the hole where the airbox sources air from will be open and cool air from the bumper will be flowing into the car once the car is moving

like i said, i am planning on supercharging my car, so really im doing this mod just for sound and looks if i decide to do it

I think it's a net negative mod. Looks bad to me cause it replaces a better intake. Try the Z1 post MAF tubes and see if your sound improves? You can hear my setup if you're around north county.

What filters do you have? What short ram intakes are they? Do you have a Nismo??

i live in north county, id love to hear your setup, i have always recommended post maf tubes and K&N Drop-ins because its cheap and they net around the same as a bunch of long tune intakes do and they are only 4-6whp

the intakes i found look like takeda sri but he had them painted dark red, im still kind of on the fence about them though

the R2C has good sealing inside the engine bay and was pretty much the same when compared to factory intake (CAI) as far as IAT.

but you're right, i currently use post-maf tubes and k&n drop-ins and called it a day. i dont like the noise short rams make.
