The HKS will get louder with HFC's, I have berks on mine. The HKS cuts down on low speed volume because of the silencers that cut out the drown while cruising. If you want volume I think you'd be better off cutting off the silencers and welding a patches over the holes. It would be interesting to know what it sounds like without them.

To my knowledge there are no silencers on our exhaust unless you are referring to the muffler canisters?

All I have on now is the HKS and it is pretty tame from, but I like it because of that attribute. Hearing it from the outside sounds so good though. Just to reiterate what everyone else is saying. Test pipes or HFC's will definitely increase the volume. Good luck.
