Berk Technology Cat-Back Coming Soon!

Has the idea of an h pipe gone out the window? Have they decided to just go with an x pipe? (I apologize if this has already been addressed)

If the X pipe works well I am sure they will just stick with that. If the sound/gains aren't as expected maybe we will see some H-Pipe testing.

Thanks for the update. I was excited to see something a little different but you never know. Maybe we'll see the GReddy Tic make it to production with the h pipe.

FWIW, Corvettes came with H pipes for years. All exhaust/header upgrades involved moving to an X pipe. GM finally did it from the factory starting with the 2008's...

Hi guys, sorry that we haven't had an update in a while. We got very busy here with round 2 of Time Attack this past weekend.

We'll try to answer some of the questions that have been posted here as best we can.

1. PRICE???? The MSRP of this exhaust will fall in the $1000-1400. I can't say for certain so I'm giving myself some buffer room, hence the somewhat wide range. The 370Z exhaust is essentially two single exhausts. If we made a single it would have a street price of around $600-700, hence my target.

2. H Pipe vs. X-pipe

The H pipe designs are typically made only for improvements in sound. They do very little for flow once you are over 4-5K RPM. The small cross over tubes simply aren't large enough to bleed the pressure over to the other side of the quiet exhaust. X-pipes enlarge the actual cross section of the exhaust pipe and assist in exhaust scavenging. It's very easy to incorporate an H-pipe design into our existing Ypipe so if we need to pursue that route then it can be done!

Thanks guys, and until next time Double Down should have prototype #1 in their hands for some 3rd party testing.

Great question Danny, seeing as the Stillen seems to have great gains in power but is super heavy.

EDIT: Josh from Stillen produced the real numbers, and their CBE is indeed heavier than stock, but not nearly as heavy as someone else had indicated at first.

This seems to be getting close to production. I can't wait to see it on the DDM car.

Is it possible we will see a single exhaust for production? I wouldn't mind noise, power and less weight....though i would probably purchase the double with the HFC's

I wouldn't be able to give you the exact weights of the production exhaust but we should expect it to weigh in at the same or a tiny bit less than the Stillen exhaust. I don't see any reason why it would be heavier than 65lbs!
