Default Stillen G3's and code P0300 Random Misfire?

So I installed the G3's a week ago on my 370. Always seem to run find and then last night it threw the code "P0300 Random Misfire". This code is also from a vacum leak or something. I tried doing the whole gas cap thing and that did not help. I was going to reset the computer and see if it would go away. The only instructions that I see on here is the goofy press pedal 5 times etc.

Questions:
1) has anyone else had this problem with G3's?
2) Is there a simpler way to reset the computer?

Thanks,

I had the same code over the winter when I installed the intake. I reset it using a scan tool and it didn't come back. Once the ECU adjusted the trims it seemed fine, although tip-in was still a little rich until I got tuned.

thanks for the quick reply. So either I have to have a scan tool to erase it or do the goofy pedal thing? Or will it go away on its own possibly?

It can go away on it's own. Why don't you just gto your local AutoZone or somewhere that will pull the codes for you for free and have them erase it?

I've never tried the goofy pedal thing. You could try the complete system reset by disconnecting the battery but that may just end up repeating the process as the fuel trims may not adjust fast enough (the Stillen messes things up as the MAF tube is a different diameter than stock). If you can borrow a scan tool that would be your best bet.

Thanks for all the help guys. I redid the gas cap then I drove it a few times and the light went off.

So I'd be running rich after intake/exhaust from stillen? I don't plan on getting tuned and Cobb is discontinued anyway. Hmm...decisions decisions. What would you suggest? I was planning on Berk HFC later this year.

I think the Stillen intake and the Berk HFC seem to cancel each other out to a certain degree. The HFC makes things run richer but the Stillen G3's allow in more air than it metered due to larger diameter MAF tubes.

Stillen intakes tend to lean out the air/fuel ratio, every car that my tuner has seen that had the G3s installed ran a bit lean in the upper rev range. My car was no different, and even had some pinging (this is with Berk high flow cats as well). I had reset my ECU too and had been driving it for a month so fuel trims and timing should have been well set by then. I still recommend a tune, it will bring a nice jump in torque too while giving you piece of mind that your A/F ratio is perfect across the board.

I think I'll go for a tune next summer, going to get the Berk HFC in the Spring. I just installed the Stillen G3 Intakes and Exhaust, going to slap on some tints and V1 Hardwire then just try to learn to drive this car faster at the track. The only other mod for this year will be winter wheels with snow tires

I'm throwing a code P2A00 and P2A03. Something to do with AF being off at the O2 sensors. Hasn't gone away after 500 miles and after a SES reset. Can my AF be so out of whack that it is causing these codes? Theoretically, if this is the case, a tune should fix this correct?

might be leak from the hfc. i got same code and it was a leak on my berk hfc. the gaskets were blown, then i didnt have a good gasket at the time so i put red rtv, its doing fine, but i bout z1 gaskets, they r 40 buck pair. they do the work pretty good.
