 FI LTHs + CBE is actually quieter than HFCs.  In cabin, windows up/windows down, still plenty quiet enough to enjoy music, or conversation. When you get on it, you hear what you want. Changes the tone of the exhaust to a slightly higher pitched note due to the increase in airflow. But the brute 'Volume' is actually less.

Here are my Dyno Vids:
I used my GoProHD on the window looking inside so you can see the RPM's and use that for the audio, since I stood behind with my phone to do the rear video's, so that's why the audio goes to crap. Just the sheer power is a bit much for the mic. Once I get a little more work done, I'll take some more dyno vids from a different angle.

I think it is just about the perfect sound level wherein you can still have conversations in the cabin but it still has enough extra dBs which improves the stock Z exhaust sound (without drastically altering it) nicely. There is no rasp whatsoever, the exhaust note is very smooth.I am on the fence about upgrading to a HFC because I want maximum performance, but am afraid of being too loud (drony). |
