Gains with injen cai

For anyone who has injen cai installed, what were you actual gains? Also, do any of you with the injen cai installed have a pic of the front with the bumper off? Thanks!

I believe gains were around 7 to 9 rear wheel HP. For more info here you go:

Damn, thats a big difference. The injen cai is getting 7-9 and The stillen cai is getting the 14-20. So why are some folks still getting the injen cai, whats the reason? Is it because of the oil required with the stillen or something else? And lets disregard the maintenance schedule and assume that regardless of which cai you own that youd maintain it once or twice a year.

In that thread many people talk about why to go with one or the other.
Installation is a bit easier with the Injen, oil filters, other reasons. For some it is not all about gains also.

Keep in mind that I was dynod on a dyno dynamics which read lower. The stillen testing is on a dynojet. Still, the G3s produce better gains. My guess is a G3 system would have gained 12hp or so on the same dyno I did.

I got mine for the dry filter Injen uses, better filtration vs oiled air filters. The gains are not that far off as m4a1mustang stated above and with dynos he did on other link.

I suppose if I had known before I purchased mine (the day they became available, 8/15/09) and someone here did their own dyno on Injens I would have prolly gone with the G3 and replaced the filters with Amsoil dry filters. Then I would have the best of both worlds. The price I paid for being the first to buy. No regrets though, its only a small piece in the mod list to getting the most out of the engines.

who here has a hydroshield installed with there cai? I saw they offered that with the injen cai...is it necessary?

Unnecessary. The filters are housed in sealed compartments within the front fascia. Rain spray and splash is not going to reach the filters. You'd have to submerge the car in two feet of water to injest any of it at which point the sheilds would do nothing.

Like I said, different dynos. Run it on a dynojet and that's what you'll get.

i was considering the g3 with a'pexi power filters. i'll post if i go that route.

You need to make sure they will fit in that space, but I really don't see why people are afraid of the oiled filters. I could see some concern about oil possibly hitting the MAF sensor, but the G3s place the filters so far down range that I don't think that should be a worry at all.

Plus, the system is designed and tuned to work with those filters. They aren't hard to maintain, either. It's easy to oil and clean them.

the oiling and cleaning the filters isn't a big deal. getting to them to maintain them is what i was thinking about. now i'm having thoughts of a quick release front bumper. hmm...
