I don't see how it can negatively impact power over the stock muffler. The level of restriction in the exhaust goes like this in my opinion (1 being the most):

1) Stock catalytic converters
2) Stock Y pipe
3) Stock muffler

I am sure these will provide decent gains since they are eliminating a pretty convoluted stock muffler design.

Seems to be that the straight thru design of AAM axle backs would be the same as just removing the stock muffler thus decreasing torque...? Perhaps I'm wrong and I am just pulling this out of my *** but idk. I realize te stock muffler is restrictive but axle-backs (IMHO) seem like they would take away too much back pressure....... It would be nice if a few people could describe how the butt dyno feels or an actual dyno.

^Depends on your entire exhuast path - thats why I run a Y pipe ;-)

man some dynos need to surface soon! sounds really good, cant stop replaying

You are right on that theory, I do believe that sticking to 2.5" exhausts on either bank is the best balance between flow and retaining some torque on these cars (at least N/A). If the pipe diameter was larger, for instance a 3" diameter, you would definitely feel a loss in torque.

But, the butt dyno knows all and that is ultimately what matters!

potential client still waiting for decibels here :tiphat:

Wazzup,
Hey I have stupid question, are the S-Line Short Tail sold in pairs? And is the promotion code still valid? Thanks. P.s. and any performance improvments or it's just more a noise maker (which I like). Thanks.

GZ3 01-03-2011 08:16 PM

yes pairs

any updates or dynos?

Hey,
You only have a Y pipe with stock muffler? If yes, is the "Y" it an improvement? Or loss of low end torque? Thx.

Kastley85891 01-03-2011 09:21 PM

I run a Y with TP's, previously, just the Y pipe and it felt better in every way.

Yo, If you don't mind sharing what you still think of your AAM? Was there a loss in low end torque? Do you think these would be too loud (like a Harley starting at 3am - LOL)? Thx. P.S. Your car sounds wicked!

+1000
muffled versions would be great! something like 92 decibels!
the muffled versions would be great for that price.

Got official answer to my own question:

>>Yes.* Horsepower is improved, but not dramatically.* The exhaust was designed to reduce weight, and improve the sound.* I can email you dyno graphs when I have them available.<<

Any one give me any suggestion of either get the AAM short tail.. or go to a muffler shop and do a custom one? Any suggestion? I just want to have the loud sound..to be honest.. I think this product is a bit high cost...
