got mine installed with the panel filters and love it! took off my k&n typhoons for this set up and I like how much better it drives. feels really nice in 3-4000 rpm range where stock it kind of felt flat. the more miles I put on this setup the better it feels.

Do you still have them and have you considered dynoing with both? It would be interesting to see the comparison on the same car.

I just sold my typhoons or else I would. to me the car feels right, throttle response was improved and the intake has a nice subdued growl.

Anything to improve the throttle response on this car is a win. I don't want to mess with flashing the ECU every time I do another mod...lol.

I read that usually the first power mods gains the most rwhp. Such as HFCs/test pipes....intake......or CBE. So I know people will gain maybe 10-15rwhp from one of these mods stand alone.....but adding all of them together they aren't getting 10-15rwhp each time.

Knowing this...its easier to justify the less expensive mods like this because the gains won't be there from all of the high dollar name brand parts.....I think?

I understand spending the money on the CBE exhaust that looks/sounds best to you....but the rest of the mods probably won't be squeezing much else out of the car....at least on a dyno....real world driving conditions might prove otherwise.

I think I want to do these post MAF tubes now.

^^yes, yes, yes. When I took off my FI exhaust and put the Nismo on, I got so much back pressure back while maintaining the free feel of the higher revs, it made daily driving feel so much better.

I think TP's might be an exception, as it was the second mod I did, and it made the largest gains overall.

hmmm I was thinking about getting the K&N short ram intakes but after reading everyones comments think i'll go with the HPS tubes instead. Could someone tell me exactly what size tubes I need for my '11 Z Touring please? Thanks in advance!!

They only have one size available -- just get the ones listed for '09-'11 Z and you are set :D

In stock now at CorSport. I just ordered a set. :driving:

Bodytechz 02-03-2011 03:58 PM

Awesome, Thanks Jordo!

TonyBPD 02-03-2011 04:10 PM

Does the ECU need to be reset for these?

No; that's never really needed.

What do people generally do in regards to tuning. If you put on a CBE, CAI, and HFCs should you get a tune.? At what point in the mod list do you risk running a poor A/F R?

6sp, are you planning on putting the FI back on or do you prefer the stock set-up?

6spd 02-12-2011 12:33 AM

ive got the s-tune exhaust right now, along with the filters and tubes. I love the way the car feels/sounds/drives/etc. I wont go back to the FI. As far as a/f goes, with bolt ons, you wont have to worry as pretty much all the dynos we see have fine ratios, not perfect, but fine enough for general use. tuning will change the dynamics of the computer with respect to timing, fuel delivery, etc. to achieve a perfect a/f ratio and maximum power. you can, though, put your cbe, cai and hfc's on without a tune without a problem, but if you want to suck every available bit of power out of the motor with that setup, you'll need a tune.

btw, my name is JJ, haha, yours too?
