Would anyone ever consider Nitrous?

Just curious what everyone's opinion is about NOS. I found what would seem like a simple kit. HP to $$ is obviously very high. Zex: '07-Current Nissan 350Z Nitrous Kit

i consider nitrous a bolt on.

I think NOS is a great brand. Although, I preferred Nitrous Express.

I believe with the kits these days, those shifting worries are over. Nowadays they cut off unless you're on it if you buy the good kits.
Staying at a 75 shot does seem like a reasonable idea, I probably wouldnt push more than that, definitely not more than 100 without upgrades.

Nitrous is perfectly safe... You can do a 150 shot on these blocks. You don't need bolt ons, but remember, you need bottle pressure. Like Mighty said, Fuel Pressure Safety Switch!

Nitrous is the cheapest horse power out there. And readily available all over the place. You can use 4 tethered 2.5Lbs bottles for maximum pressure and kick butt with it. A 100 shot is safe, but remember people, HP kills.

I may be getting a bottle too. But mine will be "Hush hush".

I dont think the block is anything to worry about on a 150 shot. I'd be more worried about the bottom end, myself. That may potentially be a lot of stress to put on the stock, un-forged bottom end. LS1's can easily do a 150 shot, but a staged setup is better (starting at, say, 75, bumping up to a 150 after a certain RPM) to reduce the shock on the bottom end. I think a 150 shot would be a LOT to subject this motor to in stock form, and potentially dangerous until its been proven it MIGHT be able to handle it.

I guess the long and short is, I wouldn't run more than a 75 on stock tune, and no more than a 100 tuned until you start hearing stories about people blowing their bottom end due to stupidity. ESPECIALLY a dry shot, too - who knows how this fuel system will handle it, particularly with direct injection...

I agree. The stock bottom end will handle 500HP with FI, so 150 will be fine at higher RPM. You're right, a staged setup would be better. 75 is reasonable for the low RPM.

Oh, I dont doubt that it can handle 500 HP FI - but theres a difference between a steady increase in power from turbo's spooling and whatnot, versus slamming an extra 150 horsepower down the motor's throat all of a sudden - its not hard to cause some nasty damage due to the shock effect . Staged 75-150 would probably be perfectly safe, though.
