Very interested to see how that combo (G3 ,intake/FI, exhaust ) works and the gains!

Keep us posted!

Thanks
Alex
Installing high flow cats are not as bad as I was led to believe after seeing so many horror stories on this site as well as the G37 owner site. However, with the right tools it is possible as the only real hard part is getting the stock cats off in the first place.

OP: good choice, I have my Stillen G3 sitting on the kitchen counter and cannot wait to throw them on the car!

I'm going for k&n drop in filters with cobb tubes. Slightly less hp gains but for a fraction of the cost.

Now let me say, before I get flamed, that by slightly less hp gains I mean after also having CBE and HFC. It's been shown that after you already have the CBE and HFC that the stillen intakes only give about 7-8hp rather than the 15hp that you see when adding it to a stock car. The k&n drop in filters will give you 5hp and cost much less.

Not saying the stillens are bad or anything, just not the route I'm going as I really don't want to worry about removing the bumper. To the original poster, consider all your options before making your choice. Lastly, as far as first mods go I would do exhaust. Not only do you get a nice hp boost but you also get a nice upgrade in how the car sounds. Again, just the route I took.

280z/300zx,

Than at after everything is said and done what type of total gains should I expect from let’s say Stillen G3 and typical CBE without HFC like Stillen or FI , HKS?

Would I have the same total gains with the HKS suction relaod kit , and HKS CBE (no HFC) as i would with the Stillen G3 and HKS CBE (no HFC)?

Thanks,

Alex

Not really familiar with the HKS suction reload kit so couldn't say. In general a typical CBE and good quality intake like the G3 would get you 20-25hp at the wheels depending on the dyno. Mod's hp gains individually don't stack as you start combining. For example FI CBE is good for about 15hp. The G3 is go for about 15hp also. Combining the two doesn't equal 30hp gain. As you start adding mods they work together as a system. Again, HFC are worth 10+hp but when you couple it with a CBE they are only goo for about 6-7.

I have other reasons but thats one reason I'm just going to keep the stock air boxes and use k&n filters with cobb tubes. Cheaper and almost as effective.
