"anti y pipe" that is a funny way to put it. I do feel that out of the H,X, or Y configuration if they are all equal diameters the Y would be the most restrictive. However it is also a popular configuration used by fujitsobo, powerhouse amuse, and gthaus to name a few. I worked on Mustangs for years as well. Started with a 2000 v6 later onto a 2004 GT I ran short headers, o/r X, and a magnaflow catback, while many here would say it's loud to me it was sublime. I guess when it comes to the Z application its on personal preference.

That's the exact same setup I had on my '03 GT! VRS O/R X and Magnaflow CBE... OMG, loved it!

The reason why I asked this question in the first place is because I love the GTHaus exhaust and I ordered the rear section after seeing it on youtube but I really don't know what to think about their y pipe configuration. They state that they actually lost significant power running true duals.

Btw the mustang guy in me couldn't deal with the restrictive cats, I just put on test pipes on Friday and I've been grinning since. Quite an upgrade compared to what I put on the GT since no check engine light goes on.

How often do you have to put the stock cats on for emissions testing in NY? Here in CT, every 2 years.

I don't think they use the exhaust snorkel anymore, some shops check for a cel and run an obII test, if it comes clean you should be good to go. Plus, if you go to the right shop $50 will get you a free sticker.

Will the GTHaus rear section bolt up to any non-GTHaus configurations?

I don't know if the Mid-pipe and rear sections are modular like they were in the Mustang. I ask because it looks like the rear section of the GTHaus bolts to the mid-pipe much farther back than my Fast Intentions exhaust does.

How would it pass a test with no cats? Dubious shops excluded of course.

You could always weld the factory shields from the stock cats around the test pipes to help with visual inspections (I'm pretty sure everyone does a visual).

With my VRS X pipe I bought two cheap cats, gutted them, and JB welded them around the X pipe... it looked like it was a catted X pipe and the welds actually held up for quite a while.

because it won't throw any trouble codes, GTM test pipes have an L-stem and keeps the O2 sensor away from the main flow. I've had it for about 200 miles no issues

John at GTHaus didn't seem worried, only thing he advised me of was that it won't be as loud as the youtube video since I'm running stock plumbing. Hopefully they get on here as a vendor and chime in soon. Worst part, they already sold their first 30 sets I have to wait 4-6 weeks.
