I have had the Stillen G3 for about a month now and I love it. Definite increase in throttle response and noticeable power gain. With my exhaust and G3, I can spin tire pretty easy. I went with the G3 for two reasons..

1) Dyno proven to be the most HP gain of any 370z intake
2) I have hydro locked a vehicle before so I steer away from designs like the Injen

Install is a breeze. The part that required the dremel took like 2 mins.

I, myself might be getting the stillen down the road....

If you buy the Stillen exhaust this month (jan) you get the intake for free!

i forget which vendor had that, but it was someone on the forum

It's Stillen. I think you saw it on Josh@Stillens signature.

thanks for the input guys.. I dont mind the hassle of either install.. weird that the stillen puts up better numbers despite being just a bit longer than the injen CAI... with my luck ill get the G3's and a month later a G4 will come out with better numbers, cheaper, and easier install LOL

After 50+ variations done on the dyno.. We're pretty confident we squeezed as much out as is going to happen from an intake. Don't expect a Gen 4..

In regards to being longer.. keep in mind that every bend, every step, filter size, design all had impacts on horsepower.. and only through rigorous testing were we able to get the gains you're seeing all over the boards through independent testing. Another post tonight shows a member with a 7AT at 20rwhp..

Yep. Keep in mind that the Injens actually bend less than the G3s. I think it's more a product of tube diameter, filter design, and filter location since the G3s prove that 90 degree bends don't mean squat.

hmm, wonder if the G3's would work even more gooder with a ram-air type setup from the front grille.. I'm also curious to know if putting a "tornado" type thing into the intake would improve anything... first things first, time to tell the GF what she's buying me for my bday lol

Not sure about the "gooder".. but we are in development of a full fascia upgrade for the 370Z which does include airpath diversion to the Gen 3 Intake filters..

You'll find with research that the Tornado of any name or variety is a giant scam.. no matter what you upgrade path, avoid that.

G'day guys I'm to new to the forum and I've ask myself the same question.

The Gen 3 intake gets the job done (as we all know) for gains.

However to cut to install.....hmmmm I dunno.

To my knowlege the injen intake comes with all the brackets to install the new water reservoir which is supplied for more of a direct bolt on application. Correct me if I'm wrong please..I dont own the intake just going off homework done.

End of the day the question needs to be ask to yourself. Is it worth cutting into my car for a couple of more HP???

As much as I love the idea of the stillen intake and a fan. My answer would be no...

What exactly do you have to cut for the g3's?.... Also is it plastic or metal or what? And what can be used to do this???

I can appreciate how it seems that "cutting" the car would be a scary venture, in reality it's just slightly enlarging holes that already exist in the composite support brace, not cutting anything off or removing anything.

As you can see from the photo below, it's just a mild enlarging on the left and right side:

Just widening it slightly to allow clearance of the piping. And as others have pointed out, the filter location being high has other advantages.

You have to cut the filler neck off the factory washer fluid resevior and fit it to th new oe with the injens, so you will never get away from cutting with either system.
