Default Z1 long tube intakes VS Z1 Maf silicone tube + high flow filters

So I initially was gonna get the Z1 long tube intakes, however I have heard that the stock air box system in my Nismo is actually pretty good some people suggested the Z1 Maf silicone Tubes plus high flow filters, is there really a large difference in between the 2, I waiting to get my TB for max bore, I Already have the upper and lower intake plenum. Before I tune the car so with being said and all those mods in mind between both set up is there a major difference between the 2

the long tube intakes reroute the filters to the front bumper, in front of the radiator. this means as little heat soak as possible.

keeping the stock intakes regardless of swapping to high flow filters and post maf silicone intake hoses will be bringing in hotter air due to stock filter location. the only benefit to running the post maf hoses is that they are smooth on the inside instead of corrugated like the stock tubes. i dont think you will see any performance increase with swapping to the silicone hoses.

Pretty sure the stock airboxes have been shown to, with higher flowing filters, flow equal amounts of air.

Conventional wisdom seems to have been defeated within the past 2-3 years by tuners (who even sell 3" Intakes) saying there isn't an appreciable gain to be had from this mod.

In the past. The best bang for the buck was K&N drop ins, and the Z1 silicone MAF hoses. The Stillen long tube cai were the best set-up. Z1 and Admin now offer larger long tubes. The stock air boxes pull air from the front side of the radiator shroud. Most short tube cai pull air behind the radiator shroud, which gets hot.

There is no way that I will do the short ram air intake but I was told the stock nismo air box was actually pretty good just to drop hi flow filters and the Z1 Maf hoses and presto for less of half of the price of the stillen or Z1 long tube intakes. I have heard why pay twice as much when there is no real major difference, I was told to spend less buy this the hi flow filters and Maf hoses and focus on the tunning cus a good tune will yield similar result with both set ups

You will make more power with the drop-ins and maf tubes over the short rams. The long tubes will give you the most power gains.

I guess my question is does the long tube make a lot more power to spend twice as much on the long tube intake versus the drop ins And mafs

What other mods you have or planning to get?

Ported TB, upper and lower ported manifold, exhaust, and shorty headers I live in CA so I want to keep it smog legal and I’m ready to get a new tune after the intake to make my NA build complete for a while

If you're going for the ported upper and lower manifolds, go for the long tubes. I have the Z1 intake on mine (the first generation), and it made a difference. My tuner was pleased when I finally bothered to get a proper intake after running stock boxes for the longest.

If you want smog legal, go with stillen as I believe they are certified.

If you want the most out of it. Get the long tubes. You spent a lot for the ported upper and lower manifolds, plus the ported throttle bodies. Why cheap out now. If you didn't have all of that. Then I could see your point. Now you don't have a point.

The Stillens are CARB legal. The problem now is that aftermarket tunes are not CARB legal and as soon as the computer see's anything different from the factory tune, your car fails. The California car nazi's just screwed us again
