I should have probably phrased my original question about whether or not it'd be a 'waste of money' a little better. I know that we get better airflow through a K&N vs. paper filters, so from that basic standpoint it's not a waste of money. What I was really trying to work through in my head, however, is how far off we are from getting a good CAI from, say, Stillen on the market. Because if we only need to wait a month or so before they release one, then it'd be a waste of money to spend $100+ on drop-in K&Ns only to take them out just a few weeks later, not to mention spending another $400+ on the CAI. On the other hand, if it's going to be like 6 months before a decent CAI will be released, then it makes more sense to go ahead and get the K&Ns. Of course, I'm guessing that none of us are clairvoyant about future release dates on this stuff, so ultimately there's no way to answer this question objectively anyway.
