Default Another Exhaust Thread

Ladies (because we've seen your posts) and Gentlemen,

I want to wake up the exhaust to be more aggressive through the gears but not be obnoxious when I get into the accelerator a bit, and .... I don't want ANY drone at highway speeds 50 to 60 mph. Note: this is a Roadster and is exclusively driven with the top down.

Can I do this with a muffler delete, or is there a short tail setup that gives me this result without breaking the bank? I want a bolt on, not a cut and fabricate.

In my area there are a number of factory mufflers for sale for under $200 on Kijiji. Has anyone bought a used one, gutted it from the top, and just welded the can closed again? What results did you get?

Looking for options that will give me what I want , but still maintain my happy Bride.

Many thanks!

Gene

go with the stock Nismo exhaust, love mine..

bought FI with 18" resonators, at highway speeds1800-2800rpm there was so much drone that i could not converse with the passenger, very annoying sound, sold it 3 weeks later..

I've had both the Invidia Gemini (current) and CNT Racing catbacks and I think they would fit what you are looking for. Both are affordable options... I actually preferred the CNT Racing pipes, even though most would consider them in the "cheap ebay exhaust" category.

Stay away from muffler delete setups such as short tails. The drone and resonance will make your ears bleed. I tried Belugas and they were extremely loud. Stayed on my car a day before removing them. Short tails are worse. I decided to go back with my stock Nismo setup, for now.

Have a look the the AAM axle back muffler to go with your Nismo exhaust.I got one a few weeks back to go with my Nismo exhaust and it sounds just right to my ears.No funky noises at certain rpm's,looks great on the car!
