Default Aam short tail fitment problems?

Hey guys, just got a Z few weeks back and picked up the aam short tails. As of now, this is how it looks? Bugs the hell out of me! As of now I didn't use any of the metal washer pieces, on a couple YouTube videos people were saying to use both of them on the passenger side so maybe that will drop that down to be even with the drivers side. But even the drivers side seems like it's too low maybe its now? Anything else i should try? Anyone else run into this problem?

Thanks!

I had similar issues and took awhile to get it aligned, as long as they are symmetric and not touching the bumper it should be fine.

I had to deal with similar issues installing my Top Speeds... It helps to have a buddy to yank on them while you tighten them in the proper position.

I ended up needing extra washers on the passenger side to get them even.

Also, it really helps to alternate when tightening the bolts on each side 1-turn left side, 1-turn right side, etc... to make sure it tightens evenly. Took me a couple tries on each muffler and in the end they're pretty even but if you really look close there is a slight difference. I imagine every set will have slightly different end results.

any play with the bolt holes on the flanges? and I would definitely use some washer or shims on the passenger side hanger mount.

No play, gonna try adding shims to the passenger side. Hopefully that'll do the trick. I'm just wondering if the drivers side seems too low? Or is it how it's supposed to be?

Maybe try backing off the bolts all the way back to the front side of the y-pipe. Then with a friend to help align them into place, start tightening them all down in steps; similar to how you'd do a valve cover or a wheel ie all bolts to 25%, then 50%, 75% and onto the recommended torque. Coming from the Harley world, this is the way i'd do an exhaust. Helps to have lots of play so you can adjust everything before snugging it all up.
