cobb access or cipher cable, but I am not buying either because of a intake, my car will be dyno tuned once NA mods are done, and an intake is 99% of most peoples first mod, then again for FI, so its pointless for me to buy either, IMO you have really limited your market by doing this...is it because of the pipe diameter where MAP sensor are? Most other manufacturer reduce the pipe size for the MAF's.

I don't really think they are limiting their market. I think they are hoping that people make an intelligent purchase and understand that some minute tweaks are needed to bring out the best from the mod.

I am also doing my intakes Last once I know I've got a tune lined up so that they're installed just before the tune. It's planning ahead. My biggest debate right now is whether or not to PC the pipes or leave them brushed.

Akuma's intake requires a revised table because it uses larger diameter piping and does not neck down at the MAF. The MAF will read differently and so the maps need to be adjusted. Larger diameter also means a bit more low end torque, which is better for a street car since prior CAI's see their best gains at the highest end of the powerband (think 6000+, a bit overkill for street driving).

Cobb did make an AccessPort for the 09, unfortunately, some drivers reported a lot of detonation and misfiring. Sometime early in 2010 Cobb completely dropped all support for the VQ37. People can still use the AccessPorts just like you'd use Osiris, but you don't get support from the manufacturer anymore.

I am looking forward to seeing these come out; unfortunately their release is not timed well for me. I'd have to sit on these intakes until I get around to buying Osiris anyway.

Please move this discussion to the intake thread as this is a group buy thread.

We at Akuma understand fully your concerns about these intakes but they are not meant to just slap on your car and call it a day. They are race proven, and dyno tested to be very durable and still efficient even with a whole lot of heat soak.

Yes they do require revised MAF tables but its something that can simply be done with the cable or the Osris Tuner or the access port (Cobb no longer supports the 370z)

We appreciate anyone who has stood by our product and for that we thank you.
We have done what we can to make a very reliable intake backed with great customer service!

Cheers!

Yea, they may build mine here soon. Trying to get them on before my Sep Track day and the Z-Nats. Trying to help get them out there.

I recall it being $400.00 plus shipping. Shipping should be no more than $30. This includes the map for Osiris for the new air flow settings.

Give them a call @ 732-326-0090
