+1 for Japanese whiskey. Suntory Yamazaki!

One of the smoothest whiskies I've ever had. Some restaurants in NYC serve it, but it's ridiculously expensive - like around $22-$26 a glass

(You can get a bottle from a Virginia ABC for ~$70.)

Another fave is Oban...

I once dated a really hot doctor lady who loved Scotch and this was her fave. I still regret letting that relationship go.
