I cannot wait to drive my car again. This is by far the most excited I've been for any vehicle modification.

Aviator44 - Our white 370 Nismo just got picked up and he was a HAPPY CAMPER! Should be seeing some feedback from him soon.

Should have you wrapped up in the nearby future, i'm emailing you some pictures of the progress now.

Why isn't aam doing any dyno's and willing to show something rather than trying to hype it up.

We have some results from one of our first R & D cars, a 2014 Nismo 370Z.
No need for any introductions, I'll just come out with the dyno chart and dyno video. Please let me know if you have any questions. As we continue through this last phase of our R & D we are preparing for our official release which means presale information will be released shortly.

AAMC 370Z Twin Turbo System - YouTube
(sorry for the cell phone video quality)

I did want to point out that at the time this dyno was done we were running at 12psi. The Turbocharger systems will be shipping with a target of 8-9 psi and target wheel HP numbers should be closer to the 480-540 range. This turbocharger system is very capable of larger numbers as you can see in the video, but we strongly suggest to install some supporting modifications before dialing the boost up any more than the 8-9psi we are initially targeting.

^Dyno graph and video
Also, this is car number 1, they said more will be done over the next few weeks to be added to the finished cars.

I am actually taking cosmo's side on this, they even admitted that the graph they posted is inflated compared to the final kit.

thats based on ths psi they ran here vs them not wanting to blow peoples engines......*cough*cosmo*cough*......and shipping the kit to only run using around 8-9psi as stated in max's post. yes then you would be correct in "inflated numbers"

meerly all i was saying is that at 12psi on 93 octane it puped out over 600whp is awesome. and yes not everyone will use 12psi or higher BUT the fact that this kit did that out of the box is the important point to remember.

:tiphat:

yes that is what i meant when they said "we did this dyno with 12 psi so the numbers are higher than the kits we are going to ship, you need extra supporting mods to do this(paraphrased)" that is my definition of inflated numbers. Now this next part is just an opinion but if you want to sell a turbo kit priced up in the 10k club it had better be capable of doing 600whp out the box.

Edit: also cosmo's car blew up cuz he can't read japanese and hooked his boost controller up wrong.

The graph shows that the kit was able to produce 600+ rwhp on stock internals and pump gas if set at high boost. It is up to the individual on whether or not they choose to run their car at the factory set 8-9 range, or increase boost to 12+. To achieve a reasonable ratio between performance and reliability it makes sense that they would ship the kits at a "safe" boost level.

1slow370 09-15-2014 07:26 PM

Ok going on your lines of thinking here, an important question would be was the 600hp dyno done on the same wastegate spring as the final kit? and what is the minimum boost you will be able to run on this kit for valet and girlfriend's driving my car tunes?

The EFR6758 has an adjustable integrated wastegate. There are three different wastegates it can run. The range of adjustability depends on which wastegate is installed. The ranges are as follows:

Low boost: 4psi-14.7psi
Medium boost: 9psi-20psi
High boost: 16psi-32psi

I do not know which wastegate they are shipping with the kits. Even the lowest boost wastegate is capable of producing the hp results posted earlier though. Max can answer your question better than I can but I hope this helps.

i highlghted your first problem.......

:shakes head:

ROBERT1183 09-16-2014 07:28 AM

Mines there now. My car will be running on low boost. 8-10psi as im only looking to make 500-530whp for now until i can beef up the motor.

Great question! Although I don't believe I would let any Valet drive my turbocharged Z (used to be a valet myself way back in the day) - I would give them the extra $10 to park it up front so they can drool over it instead of taking 1/8" of rubber off my tires.

The BorgWarner EFR Turbochargers we use come with the medium boost actuator which we then take off and replace with the low boost actuators.

To answer your question, the White Nismo which was seen in the dyno video/graph utilized the very same low boost actuator which are included in the turbocharger system.

Regarding minimum boost - we just had a 350Z leave yesterday with the same AAM Competition BorgWarner Turbocharger System (aside from 350Z vs. 370Z differences) set to 5psi. We set it a bit lower because it was an automatic with close to 100k miles on the engine. I will also add that he drove 10+ hours home right after picking up the vehicle - not a bad durability test right off the bat!

Aviator44's numbers on boost limitations are right on point( I am also re verifying with BW), but theoretically speaking each of those actuators should be able to support up to 50% more boost than the numbers dictate.
Edit: Here is the boost actuator limitations chart from BorgWarner:
http://aamcompetition.com/files/TT/boostactnumbers.jpg

For customer who want to run a much higher boost, we will have both the medium and high boost actuators available but for the majority of all applications the low boost actuators should suffice.

good questions!

Hey Max a question for the auto guys, I know you guys are working on a trans upgrade but is there way to TQ come on linear ? I would only be looking at 8 PSI and mid to high 400's but worried about throwing 400 FTlbs at my 7 PSD :/ Thank you

This would be achievable via tuning. We should be getting one of our R & D 370Z auto's on the dyno over the next few days and I will be sure to share those results with this community. You should see a much more consistent and predictable TQ curve. Stay Tuned (pun intended :driving: )

Hey Thanx Max! I will :)

nomodsjk 09-18-2014 01:55 PM

I am very excited about this set up. I am getting my 7at built by level 10on October 13th right after I get back from nationals. I intend to fully build my motor this winter and if all goes well I'd like to put this system on my car and turn the boost up as much as a built motor can handle....edit as much as a built 7at trans can handle!! I'd love to have around 750 at the wheels. That's my goal anyway

looks like we all should buy stock in rubber if you want 750rwhp

i'm in to see what that level10 tranny can handle and also how high this kit can push it to.

Well I will certainly oblige given a few months. I'm going for 100% show car and 100% race car. Its a delicate balance but I'm not used to settling for anything less than everything! Lol

Hey max I don't know if you remember me but we spoke about me being a r&d car for this about a month ago but I told you my car was getting shipped to Los Angeles to fly1 motorsports. Well its almost done and should be back in about two weeks. I've been texting Jason today and asked him to talk to you for me but since you responded so quickly I figured I would just ask you to call me again to discuss my plans and see if there is something we can work out. Please call me when you can. My name is rich and my number is. Edit.... 1-800 ba** b**thanks buddy

Hey max sorry I forgot to send you that list of parts. I'll try my best to do that before I leave for the airport tonight. If not I'll figure it out. I can have my friend do it for me while I'm visiting fly1 motorsports in LA
