Yeah. I just don't like the huge cans in the 3inch system.

I was on the fence about this as well. I also had concerns with the exhaust being angled out the back.

After seeing them on the car and the sound they put off, I am 100% satisfied. If I had to I would choose it all over again. I will also be doing a review on the exhaust with included photos and videos.

Hey Robert, unfortunately I don't have an update on your car (useless I know). But I will have Max call you tomorrow.

Anytime. Chris and I got some pretty good shots and I'll make sure they're sent over once he's finished editing them. :)

Yep! I arrived at AAM around 11:30 on Saturday and drove the car 8 hours home. Big thanks to Max and the guys for coming in on a Saturday to fit my schedule! I did see your car!

I will be writing a full review with pictures and video shortly. In the meantime though, I'll provide some feedback. If I had one word to describe the car it would be effortless. Effortless in the sense that the car is far more capable performance wise than anything you could want it to do. No longer is the car the restriction, it's the driver. The moment you roll onto the throttle she wants to scream. I took the drive home extremely easy, but even doing so you sense immediately the car is stupid fast compared to stock. The turbos spool up quickly and you can feel the car begging you for more. I've had fast vehicles but nothing I've owned compares to this Z.

I also had Z1 motor/trans mounts installed that feel phnomenal. Vibration certainly increased but it's not unbearable. The benifits completely outweigh the drawbacks. I highly recommend them.

Additionally, I went with the AAM 3" exhaust that sounds amazing. It has the perfect low deep tone I was looking for when taking it easy but absolutely screams when you want it to.

All in all the car is everything I wanted it to be and more. The setup and work done by AAM has been outstanding and it truly has made me love this car more than I could imagine. You can't help but smile every time you drive it.

You guys that are having the same setup installed will not be disappointed! The wait was completely worth it! :driving::happydance:

Thanks for providing the community with some initial feedback!

One thing you didn't mention - the schoolboy smile you had after driving it around the block once.

I need that smile too!!:yum:

Boost will do that. Perma-grin. And it lasts. 6 months boosted and I still giggle like a school girl when the turbo spools.:rofl2:

Hi all! I've been a lurker around these parts for quite some time and have recently been following this thread/in contact with Max when it started. I usually post to the G forums, but I wanted to use my first post here to thank AAM for working on this project and advancing the VQ communities!

Big ups to Max for putting up with all my incessant questions/calls! Your service that you have provided thus far is definitely one of the reasons (besides the other obvious ones in the first post) that I will be joining the AAM Competition TT Owners Club in the coming months. :happydance:

I have gained a lot of knowledge from the posts on this forum, so hopefully I can start being more of a contributor. :hello:

You have been nothing but a pleasure to communicate with and providing you with insight/information is why I'm here. Regardless, thanks for the kind words!

Robet will be getting his back Tomorrow so hopefully you will see some initial feedback from his.

We have 3 more in the shop we are looking to finish up over the next week as well.

User reviews, user submitted photos and hopefully some independent dyno results will start showing up over the next few weeks, I would assume.

Hey max I'm still in Georgia for nationals but will be home tomorrow night. I'm planning on calling you soon to see when would be a good time to bring the car down to you guys so you can see it in person and so we can meet and talk about the project.

ROBERT1183 10-12-2014 03:20 PM

Just wanted to leave a quick note. Will be doing a better write up as I get to drive the car more. I picked up the car last night. Max was kind enough to take my car home with him after work so that I could pick it up as I couldn't make it to the shop during business hours for the next few weeks. Max and his wife were very welcoming. The smile on my face while driving it home was huge. It pulls so hard. Sounds amazing. I did happen to run into one issue. The line from the fuel pump up the sending unit had blown off. Max was very helpful and guided me on how to get to the pump to resecure it. Even at almost 1am in the morning. That definitely speaks volumes to the kind of guy Max is and to how AAM is. I was on the fence about this kit and the fast intentions before I decided to go with the AAM kit. And Max was one of the leading factors that made my decision. These days with what happened with GTM it's hard to trust someone and a shop with your hard earned money but I will def vouche for AAM and for Max. Def look foward to driving it more and writing a full write up with pics.

Robert - Thank you for the kind words. My customers are like family and treated the same.

If there was any humor to find in this experience, it was on my end. Anybody ever see that state farm commercial where the husband gets busted talking to his agent at 3am in the morning and the wife things it's his girlfriend. I had left the bedroom to communicate with Robert and my wife comes out and gives me this look - who are you talking to at 1am! Haha

I've been trying to get some good video footage for the review but Mother Nature isn't cooperating. It's been raining off and on here in Ohio the past few days. Once it clears up I should be able to get the review done. This kind of power and wet roads don't play well with each other!

Well in all fairness, being Ohio State, I would have preferred to send it to those "people" up north.

Kind of shocked this thing only made 380ft-lbs. Yes it was difficult to type only and 380ft-lbs in the same sentence but with 500hp, I figured the torque would be higher.

Love to see the graph (hint....hint...post that ****)

Here's an updated pic after I put on the seibon carbon engine cover and passwordjdm carbon radiator cover and brake and battery covers. Strut bar will be sent out over the winter to be powder coated candy blue to match my rays gram lights. Possibly intake tubes too. Still on a quest for a top secret or arc oil cap lol.
