Arrvaxx, have not heard that, maybe under high heat/load you could cause temps to rise quickly as airflow is restricted.
The goal is to increase capacity & cooling because you have an intercooler, and possibly other coolers, prior to the radiator so the radiator needs to be more efficient and larger.
