Then you have no business getting into the FI game. You need to be able to maintain it properly. You also need at least half the cost of the kit in extra money for supporting mods and labor and tune. If the kit is $6k, it's closer to a $10k project. This is not something to cut corners on.

Yep, kit is only about 50-60% of the cost.
If you pay to install assume 1500 to 2k, oil cooler, fluids, etc will around it up to 10k total. Plus each kit has items you need to check and buy fluid for or replace parts periodically. These costs are usually minimal (100-300) but that can be yearly or sooner sometimes along with normal car maintenance requirements.
