Default 370z stock Pistons

In my future plan, thinking about getting a Stillen Supercharger kit and recently i heard it from my friend that 370z's stock pistons are forged already so i don't have to change my pistons if I'm going to get a sc kit. is that true?

I've been searching for thread about pistons but couldn't. if there's a thread hook me up. thank you for your concern !!

If you need pistons, they'll be included in the kit.

P.s. This belongs in the FI section, not general.

No kit includes pistons, but you don't need to touch the motor for a Stillen kit. Go look at the Stillen kits in the Forced Induction Finished Builds sticky.

Many of us have Stillen SC and most if not all are on stock motors, no need for pistons.

Most all SC kits I have seen are still on stock block, a few have upgraded for different reasons but the amount of power the base SC kits put out is within a safe range.
Just get a solid tune from a good shop, supporting mods, and keep up with proper maintenance and the kit will be good to you. I have the GTM stage 1 SC with 76k miles on the car and almost 60k miles with the kit.

Then you have no business getting into the FI game. You need to be able to maintain it properly. You also need at least half the cost of the kit in extra money for supporting mods and labor and tune. If the kit is $6k, it's closer to a $10k project. This is not something to cut corners on.

Yep, kit is only about 50-60% of the cost.
If you pay to install assume 1500 to 2k, oil cooler, fluids, etc will around it up to 10k total. Plus each kit has items you need to check and buy fluid for or replace parts periodically. These costs are usually minimal (100-300) but that can be yearly or sooner sometimes along with normal car maintenance requirements.

Plus you should always have enough cash on hand in case the motor lets go. It's rare, but it's completely irresponsible to boost a factory NA car without enough money in reserve to get it back on the road again if something breaks.

Corky Bell wrote a book called "Supercharging". Go buy it and read it. It's not enough to talk to people who buy kits. There are a lot of people who buy things they don't understand and then have issues because they don't know their *** from a hot rock. And don't rule out the BP turbo kit as well. It's in the same ballpark cost-wise as the Stillen kit and there's a much higher ceiling on it.
