That's the smart thing to do. Well that, being up front and honest/relatable for your words are and will carry you far. I'm not ready for this until about 6 month.

Will you piece together v1.5 parts to upgrade current bp kits with v1? I would like to purchase the upgrades to make my kit a v1.5.

Yes, this is the #1 thing on my list of things to do. It will be done before the V2.0 production starts.

I would like to reiterate that I'd like this upgrade also.

Everytime I read this thread I regret having to pull out of the first group buy a few years ago. Simply amazing work and customer service. I'm willing to bet I'll switch to a single turbo down the road eventually. :tiphat:

I will make 6 revised pipe kits for all you guys that have purchased these kits in the past. Will have to order the thermostats shortly here, and build a few hoses. One of the hoses can be reused, but one new one has to be made to reach from the cooler (right hand side) to the thermostat. I already have the silicone couplers, all the aluminium piping, BOV flanges as well as the non modified compressor covers.

Sounds great Sasha. As we've previously discussed, don't ship me any new hoses. I'm going to start over from scratch since I'm the only G kit out there. Although most things are similar there are enough differences in things like hose lengths to make a difference. I'm hoping building fit for purpose hoses and eliminating the GReddy relocation adapter will finally rid me of these stubborn oil leaks.

Is there a list or an order of people that will be able to buy this coming round? Or is it first come first serve when you post that you are taking money?

I will probably go with first come first serve, but will send those who inquired a PM before the official posting.

Last time I did the whole "list" thing, there were about 15 potential customers. Out of the 15, only 4 actually bought a kit. So it is kind of pointless since things change in peoples lives, and other priorities take over at times.

AlexRaymond19 08-04-2014 09:23 PM

Gotcha, I'll be patiently waiting

I think the most epic list fail has to have been the GTM MHI list. Something like 150 people on it, 0 kits delivered! I am sure everyone here appreciates how you manage expectations and run your business.

I wonder what's going on with it. More than half the year is up. There is no way in hell Sam is still waiting for parts to make his pipes.

i will be in for v1.5 as well. what was the cost again to upgrade? i can't remember which thread it was in

TopgunZ 08-07-2014 07:59 AM

Sasha,

What ever happened to the catted exhaust mod? Is this still in the works? I would still love to buy this if you made them.

I'm also interested in this. 2015 is approaching and I'll need to pass an e-test on the Z before next summer.

Sasha, if you don't intend to build the catted downpipes, I'll have to look into getting dum-dum O2 sensors to simulate a healthy cat so I can turn back on the post cat O2 monitors. Having the post cat monitor turned off = automatic e-test fail = no plate renewal. F@$k the tree huggers .

I just had my car emission testing thinking i would pass. My car was rejected. Now I have to look at other options. Next thing I am going to try are foulers or O2 bung extensions.

The upgrade will consist of the following items:

All new turbo to FMIC piping with BOV flange
New turbo compressor cover
Mocal thermostatic plate
One new -8an oil cooler line
One new oil filter
New air filter
New turbo inlet gasket
One additional silicone coupler

The price will be about $800. I thought I could keep it a bit lower, but all the materials and labour add up in a hurry.

I have not had that much time too look in to incorporating the converters in to the system. There isn't all that much room, and the converters I received were not as compact as I had hoped.

What did you do with the o2's? Curious because i have to do emissions in a few months.

I didn't do anything to my O2 sensors. I didn't buy any extenders or o2 bungs.

This is what I did.

1. Buy or borrow a OBDII scanner.
2. Make sure your O2 sensors are activated in your Tune.
3. Plug in OBD II scanner. Clear any codes that are there.
4. Drive 5 miles at 60 mph.
5. Slow down to a stop.
6. Turn around and drive 5 miles at 60 mph back.
7. Went WOT in second and third gear. (Just for fun.)
8. Car was ready for emissions. It was not ready prior to going WOT.

Not sure if it mattered with going WOT but that is exactly what I did prior to passing.

I would check and refresh the OBDII scanner every couple minutes. Once it shows that you only have 1 monitor incomplete then you are basically ready to do your emissions. Check if there are any pending codes. When I check there were no codes.

Once it is ready, go straight to the emission facility and have them test it. Make sure you do not turn your car off after you get your car ready for emissions. The guy at the emission facility will turn your car off but you should still be able to pass.

If you are unlucky you may have to end up driving like 50+ miles to get it ready for emissions.

Then when you pass. You :happydance: and :driving:

Which model turbo comes standard with the v2 kit?

Sasha - Any idea on timing for these?

Should have these ready to roll out in a couple of weeks or so. They will be built the same time as the 3" charge pipes. That way I can send everything out for powder coating at the same time.

You're powder coating the IC piping now?

Well, it took a while, but all PM's replied to.

A large number of you have asked to send deposits. I am sorry, but I am just not ready to take those at the moment. I am currently ordering materials for 10 complete kits, and will start the fabrication on those in the next month or so. Once the kits are close to complete....as in IC pipes are being powder coated, and the exhaust piping is fabricated, I will be accepting deposits.

I don't like to hang on to people's money for a long time (1 month or longer). At the same time the added pressure I put on myself once deposits are in is something I also like to avoid. Hope you guys understand that from a personal and business point of view.

Umm, I take back what I said about being ready in 6 months. I think I will be ready to buy this Sexy Snail at the end of next month. My $$ in in the bank right now. I just need to make the $$ to cover bills for the month of purchase.

GRRR!!!!! So want this snail!

Awesome!!!

AlexRaymond19 09-10-2014 11:58 AM

Awesome! I will be ready when you are Sasha!

Side note, Sasha I seem to be running about a quart low every 5kish miles. Well actually this has only happened two times non-consecutive. I'm keeping a very close eye on it now, but if I do have an oil consumption issue, will going boosted make it worse? If so, not a big deal, I'll just feed it oil until it dies and rebuild the engine.

Will building an engine with oil consumption issues solve the problem?

It may just be coincidence but my Z was burning oil pretty bad. I put the turbo kit on at 17K and it actually stopped burning oil. Not sure if it just finally broke in or what went on but its been great since the Tbow.

Nope. Crosspipe bolts to factory triangle flange at the base of the stock headers

09-12-2014 12:10 PM

So I need some type of shorty header?

Mitco39 09-12-2014 12:14 PM

The kit is designed to bolt up to the factory headers.

Unless you are going to have the flanges custom welded you will need a header that keeps stock location and rotation of yhe triangle flange. Go back to your stock headers and sell the LTHs and put the money towards the kit. All but one of us are running stock headers and lack of power is not our problem, traction is

09-12-2014 12:46 PM

Aww music to my ears extra cash for the kit !!!

09-12-2014 12:48 PM

I need this kit ASAP almost pulled the trigger on a sts kit before seeing this .

jwick 09-12-2014 12:50 PM

I'm bias but this is the best single turbo kit for the VQ.
