Didn't think any of it specifically referred to you. You've already said you plan to replace it when it blows, I just pointed out you probably wont get near the 20-40k you said you expect at that power level if you are in the boost often. This isn't really an argument in my opinion more casual debate, but I guess I hurt your feelings?
So what your saying is F.I's kit would be better if it were a bit worse? I agree you are cutting down the longevity of the motor at those power levels however, no one really knows how long the motor will last.

Sorry trips I had to post this

So, who's still in this thing? I'm paid up in full since June last year. I know some have got refunds etc.. anyone swapped over to a supercharger kit instead of waiting longer?

To all saying it's the high TQ that kills a motor, you are correct, BUT.... Horsepower is simply a function of torque at xxxx RPM. More precisely, HP = (TQ x RPM)/5252
Also, F.I. has done their due diligence and it is just paying off for their customers, that's all. Nobody truly knows the limits of the stock block until a kit like Tony's meets a Specialty Z tune and the clock ticks forward. Haters gonna hate.

It's not hate, it's just a fact. There is a torque limit at which the motor will let go, whether it be from an issue or simply metal fatigue from high cylinder rpressures. Are the FI kits over that? We'll see. Time will tell. At the 600whp level, it's not going to take much of a hiccup to take out a motor.

So let me get this straight.. What FI turbo kit owners are saying is 600 WHP is safe with FI kit but with GTM kit you will kill the engine with that power?

I think it's that the FI kit makes more power out of the box, and there haven't been any failures yet. Granted, I'd be shocked if anyone had more than 5k miles on those kits. Again, time will tell.

ofcourse they will make more power out of the box. just look at FI kit and compare it to GTM kit they shouldn't even be on same sentence, totally different category, and not only that. their kit use bigger turbo too (GTX2867 compared to GT2860)

I just find it childish to argue about FI kit will handle 600 WHP while GTM kit will pop your engine with that power..

Yep, it's funny that there's a brand as far as how much power a motor can take.

^It's about more power on lower boost, and therefore efficiency per unit of added air and fuel, not the absolute figure. 9psi on two disco potatoes is 9psi on two disco potatoes, whether that's from a GTM kit or an F.I. kit. Difference is in the what makes up the rest of the setup and the quality of the tune.

And the stage 1 FI kit still uses 2860; GTX turbos are an extra-cost upgrade.
