2010 will be good for the 370! By summer we should have at least 2 supercharger kits and ~4 TT kits to choose from!

Sweet! So you're saying it's good for 450 rwhp?

Alright simplifying my other post and a bit of follow up, I ran on over to performance shop in my area that builds supercharger kits and the news isn't good. Basically it goes something like VVEL and open throttlebodies make it impossiple to mount a rotor style supercharger on our cars (roots-tvs or twinscrew). So my bet is on seeing the Stillen centrifugal supercharger kit come May Only way around it is some mad ecu hacks or cable throttle bodies and either way you will lose the effect of vvel reducing the engines pumping losses while cruising.

Yep, that's what I heard too.

Kyle, any Idea on a realistic release date on this. There was a post about 9 months ago that said it was coming along nicely I don't think that is over delivering. Superchargers for the 370Z?

I know these things take time to develop, but there is obviously some problems in R&D or it's just not a priority at the moment. Either way, it would be great if you could shed some real light on the development, if it's going to be a Centrifugal or Roots style, and a realistic delivery date. Will it really be in May, or possible for sale sooner?

I'm with you. I really like Stillen's ethics on product development, however, if they keep hiding info, people are going to look at other companies for forced induction.

I assure you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with our R&D process and we have not had any delays due to this particular project.

As I have said in this thread and others, our biggest delay, was caused by the Targa Newfoundland rally car. We've actually been working on the supercharger since early 2009 or late 2008 (don't remember exactly when we started) but when the development of the GT R rally car began, we had to put some of our other projects on hold.

I'm sure the slow sales of the Z didn't help our priority any either...

I think around 97% of all the 370'z produced for this model year, shipped to the US, have sold?

(this going off sales threads in general discussion, but I may be remembering the numbers incorrectly)

Even then, in this economy, performance cars generally don't do very well, and drop off horribly in favor of cheaper...

That may be true, but they drastically cut back production. They were hoping to sell 40K Zs this year IIRC...

To be completely honest, I don't think that was a big factor. I do know that the supercharger will also fit the G37 and there is a very good possibility that it will fit the 07-08 Z's as well. So the lack of new car sales on the Z weren't a huge factor. When we design our kits we try to make them fit multiple vehicle's. This helps everyone by allowing us to ammortize the cost of the R&D over a larger number of potential sales which in turn lowers the customer's retail price.

At the end of the day, Steve just wanted to go play in Newfoundland with his GT R and it had to be ready by September LMAO!!!

On a serious note though, we are planning on sitting down at the beginning of next week to discuss what information we can release. We all agree that it's about time that we offer some more details on the kit as we are pretty far along in the development process. I just need to ask the Manager's what they're comfortable talking about.

Nice - thanks for doing that.

And I can understand wanting to play with the GT R in Newfoundland

It fits the G37? Hell yeah! Can't wait to hear more details about the kit.
