thats why im not getting any other mods...rushed into the CAI and found out its not going to work with FI. I think the only thing i can get is a exhaust system

Why on earth would an aftermarket OEM replacement CAI also work with an aftermarket supercharger even if it were from the same company?

1slow370 12-11-2009 08:29 PM

if it was a rotor type they could have routed the throttlebodies to the G3 intake take a chill pill dude i noticed they censored you laughing at snakes out of your post. It's a valid idea unfortunately it doesn't work with a centrifugal

Actually I edited that out because I felt it was too harsh a comment since I thought of what you just posted and figured it would be viable in a remote instance but still very unlikely but yeahhhh

To be completely honest, I don't think that was a big factor. I do know that the supercharger will also fit the G37 and there is a very good possibility that it will fit the 07-08 Z's as well. So the lack of new car sales on the Z weren't a huge factor. When we design our kits we try to make them fit multiple vehicle's. This helps everyone by allowing us to ammortize the cost of the R&D over a larger number of potential sales which in turn lowers the customer's retail price.

At the end of the day, Steve just wanted to go play in Newfoundland with his GT R and it had to be ready by September LMAO!!!

On a serious note though, we are planning on sitting down at the beginning of next week to discuss what information we can release. We all agree that it's about time that we offer some more details on the kit as we are pretty far along in the development process. I just need to ask the Manager's what they're comfortable talking about.

It fits the G37? Hell yeah! Can't wait to hear more details about the kit.

Anybody down for a possible stakeout outside the Stillen facilities for some spy shots?

Josh@STILLEN 12-11-2009 11:50 PM

We're hosting an event tomorrow morning at 9am.. Adam's Polish car detail clinic.. come on down.. tour included.. :)

Waiting for the presidental pardon paperwork to be processed?? :p j/k

I'm interested in the possibility of this kit vs a TT. I'm sure more information will be released in time when it's ready to be displayed and dissected by the forum masses. I know, I wouldn't release any info until I was sure it could pass the critical analysis of the membership.

So in a sense, we are, our own worst enemy.

Snakes709 12-12-2009 05:23 PM

Power and Cost is whats going to determine whether i start saving for a TT or Supercharger kit. Hope more info is released soon

RCZ 12-13-2009 11:07 AM

im already saving :) hopefully its less than I expect.

LiquidZ 12-14-2009 10:26 AM

Stillen, can we expect some released information either today or tomorrow?

Kyle@STILLEN 12-14-2009 11:32 AM

Dunno yet...It's only 9:30 right now but we're going to have a meeting either today or tomorrow to see what Josh and I are allowed to talk about and to find out where everything is in the process.

And the plot thickens....................

Kyle@STILLEN 12-14-2009 05:37 PM

more info. coming soon!

motoextreme 12-14-2009 05:48 PM

All I know is there's enough of us talking about it... Do I hear group buy coming?

LiquidZ 12-14-2009 06:05 PM

Omg

roplusbee 12-14-2009 09:25 PM

A GB would be pretty awesome. Not so sure that I would be able to participate though. I will be getting back to the States just before summer, so I doubt I will have my Z and be ready to make mods when this is kit ready *sigh*. Who knows, the moons may line up and everything falls into place for me, but I won't hold my breathe.

Minicobra1 12-15-2009 03:47 AM

group buy

Snakes709 12-15-2009 04:29 AM

how about they release some more info before a group buy.

motoextreme 12-15-2009 09:21 AM

We're just throwing it out there Snakes...

All BS aside, havent driven the car for a few days, damn thing is pretty quick already with just the mod's I've done. Can't imagine what it would do with another 100 HP+. Should be fun!

1slow370 12-15-2009 12:03 PM

not lose to a camaro made 11 years ago thats what it would do

motoextreme 12-15-2009 12:13 PM

:tup::tup::tup::tup:

LiquidZ 12-15-2009 01:02 PM

Tick tock

Snakes709 12-15-2009 01:22 PM

Yea im still rocking my 370z in the snow
http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_0378.jpg

Havent been able to go 50% in about 2 weeks....i want WOT!!!! I want SPEED!!!

I was going to buy 2 nitrous kits the other night (starting kit and racing kit) Would have cost me $1173..but im saving my money for forced induction...im hoping the the supercharger isnt alot of money for ~100hp

Kyle@STILLEN 12-15-2009 01:29 PM

Sorry for the delay guys...The guys from Smokin' tire video crew are here do an "About STILLEN" video for their website. Here is the info we are ready to release on the supercharger:

Well, the meeting went very well with the managers and I do have some information to give you guys!!!

We will be using a Vortech supercharger/blower for our kit. We have engineered a new intake manifold, intake tract, intercooler system, and more but the actual blower is a Vortech unit. We can’t say exactly what trim it is just yet because our experience in the past with Vortech has taught us that we might change it during final testing. When we made a kit for the older Maxima’s we actually went through a few different trims on the wheels before coming to a final design. We can confirm that it is a self contained oiling unit so there will be a lot of added benefits.

We will be using a water to air intercooler. With a custom designed intercooler.

There will be no hood change. Everything fits nicely under the hood.

We have engineered a cast aluminum intake manifold which is currently out at the casting houses right now getting prepared for production pieces to be started.

We have a very good relationship with a CARB testing lab that we will be working with in our efforts to achieve CARB certification. In order to achieve CARB certification we must send the test piece to the lab that is a 100% production kit. There can be no differences between the production piece and the kit that goes to CARB. All of our recent kits for the VQ35, VQ40 and VK56 went through CARB testing with no issues, but the testing is extensive and can take awhile.

The kit will come with a warranty.

We have begun production on a number of the pieces such as the mounting bracketry, the cast aluminum intake manifold, intercoolers, and more.

Currently we are working on the tuning and we hope to use a hand held tuner. Hand held tuners are clearly the leading edge of technology and we hope to incorporate that into this kit.

To this point we have invested well over $100,000.00 and more than a year in development. All in an effort to have the best forced induction solution possible. Our VQ35 supercharger kit and our VK56 supercharger kit each took over a year to develop. We spend a lot of time on the CAD drawings, prototyping, test fitting, engineering, tuning, and final drive testing. We refuse to rush any one of these crucial parts of the development process. We are very excited as anyone to bring the new supercharger to market. Our 25 years’ experience in developing new products has taught us that it is more important that it is right than right now.

It is too early to begin discussing group buy and to be honest, I don't know if we will do one. I might be able to get an introductory price but even then, I don't know.

RCZ 12-15-2009 01:45 PM

Thanks for the info Kyle. Finally some actual facts from anyone.

I assume that intercooler is a customized Vortech Air to water unit?

WShade 12-15-2009 01:46 PM

In for the pics

Togo 12-15-2009 01:48 PM

^wow thanks for all the info Kyle!

shabarivas 12-15-2009 01:56 PM

sweet - time to start saving the pennies away... I have been waiting for a CARB ok SC kit and this looks mighty fine esp w/ no hood mods - need her to look sleeper :p

Nope, this intercooler is 100% custom. It is actually a bar and plate unit which we have designed and we are having built to our specs by a company in the U.S. They have been building bar and plate intercoolers for many years and we currently use their units on our superchargers for the Nissan Titan.

It's going to be awhile.

We have worked extremely hard in designing the new intake manifold and coming up with the creative routing for the inlets and everything that we are going to be keeping the information close until we are ready to release everything.

We have a car in the R&D (Research and Development) department that runs with the supercharger installed and it has required a lot of creativity and extreme engineering. We do not want other companies R&D (Rip-off and Duplicate) departments to take our designs.

THAT R&D COMMENT IS NOT DIRECTED AT GTM!!! We have a healthy relationship with the guys at GTM and have nothing but respect for them and the products they build. We wish them the best with their forced induction systems and look forward to seeing what they come up with.

We have seen other companies in the past take our engineering and our designs and make their own parts based on our hard work. Because of this, we are forced to keep our information private until we are ready to release it.

RCZ 12-15-2009 02:27 PM

Very very cool actually. Everything sounds good so far. Do you guys have a power range goal? how about a price range? full boost rpm?

I can't say exactly what the power range goal will be because there are many variables to that question.

I can confirm that the unit we are using is capable of reaching some pretty high horsepower levels. Exactly what they are, I don't know yet, I'll have to check with the engineers to confirm that. The biggest factor is going to depend on which kit the customer purchases. We will be going after CARB legality with this kit so we will be limited a little bit however just like our other superchargers in the past, we will be offering different stages for higher power levels. Also, for the guys looking to go all out and do some custom tuning and what not, we are hoping to have a package to accomodate you as well.

Price range, I don't know yet. Again, this is something that can change as time goes on. We have an idea of what we would like to offer the kit for but we just don't know until everything is completed and we have an entire list of parts and costs.

I'm not sure yet about the boost levels, again for the standard kit we will be limited by CARB testing but the good thing about the Vortech units is their ability to build boost so for our more aggressive stage kits, we will be able to offer higher boost levels.

RCZ 12-15-2009 02:49 PM

Yeah, Im in Florida. Regulations are more or less non existent here. Definitely looking forward to those other stages. Thanks for the prompt answers. Im sure others will have plenty of questions.

JB-370z 12-15-2009 02:54 PM

Cannot wait to see what this kit is going to offer as far as numbers are concerned. Also im sure its going to be a nice looking kit. Not to mention the ablity to up the boost down the road if ya get power hungry, now this is a nice option. Chargers sure are evolving for the best!!! Thanks Kyle for not keeping us out in the rain for too long. Now all we need is some pics!!!!

PS: Can you tell us at least if it is a V-1, V-2 etc. charger???

Snakes709 12-15-2009 03:19 PM

I'm not to familiar with vortech style superchargers but how well does meth injection work with it. I had a M62 and TVS 1320 on my cobalt and meth allowed me to advance my timing from 16* to 26* which is alot on the LSJ engines
