Stillen Supercharger estimates???

What kind of stats can we expect from the stillen s/c kit, any estimates on hp/tq, 0-60 times, Type of S/C, etc...?

Nobody knows anything outside of Stillen.

NewYorkJon34 07-25-2009 12:31 AM

^I hope so, awhile ago I got to ride in 350z with a vortech S/C, and I thought it was pretty fast

Togo 07-25-2009 03:28 PM

Stillen has been playing this one very close to the chest.

They haven't even announced what type of blower they are using no less any power predictions.

:ninja3: They have mentioned though that we will all like it. :D

NewYorkJon34 07-25-2009 03:42 PM

Lol, I'm sure we will all def like it, I just hope it is priced well & reliable, I not looking for insane Hp, my goal is to get about 350-400 tq

FuszNissan 07-25-2009 03:47 PM

I hope it isn't like the 350 S/C where they just slapped it on the plenum, and you had to buy another hood also.

Togo 07-25-2009 03:51 PM

400 ft-lbs. That would be really nice!!!

Some people have mentioned 7K-ish is what could be the expected price point.

NewYorkJon34 07-25-2009 03:58 PM

I'd be willing to pay 5-7k for a quality product that I don't have to worry about something going wrong.

I loved my stillen stage 3 on my 350. To me at least, especially for road course work, it was much more driveable than the centrifugal ones. Lots of low end torque and no giant intercooler to block cooling airflow for the radiator. However, on the C6, I drove a Callaway at a driving school and had a vortech on my own, and the vortech was more fun to me, just ran too hot.

Its possible you won't need a new hood with this one ;)

+1

Keeping my eyes opened for this, too. Can't hurt to add it to all my other goodies!

one can dream...

shabarivas 07-27-2009 06:26 PM

Lol speaking of dreaming - 400 tq hahaha... no wayy a SC is gonna get you that much TQ... Thats like 2x stock haha

NewYorkJon34 07-27-2009 07:47 PM

^well if I can get to 350 tq, I would be more then happy, I think we can get close with bolt-ons + the S/C & tune

370Zilla 07-27-2009 08:44 PM

I think that 350wtq is attainable. The S/C should add 55-75, and then full bolt ons....I would take a good size wager I could get it done.

kdoske 07-29-2009 07:45 PM

55-75, you don't think that underestimating a little?

my thoughts exactly. that was definitley a 1K cost that you don't really think of when looking for a stillen sc for the 350z.
wouldnt surprise me if they ran the same style setup; as one of the few F/I options on the 370z market when it comes out, people really dont have many other options, so its just another channel for stillen to make some $$$

Agreed. Stillen rushed it so they could be the first to the market (which they were), but they didn't sell alot of them when better kits were released shortly afterwards.

rreign 08-05-2009 12:04 PM

I would think that 55- 75 whp would be a slight under-estimate. Kraftwerks rotrex's, on other cars, are putting up like 75- 100 whp with like 10psi.

370Zilla 08-06-2009 08:55 PM

I would be willing to bet that I am right on with the whp numbers. I have had three supercharged cars, it is not that easy to make big numbers on a stage 2 street type setup.

The 350's only gained 60-65 max whp with the Stillen stage 2. What makes you guys think I am conservative?

Brazilbro 08-06-2009 08:59 PM

supercharger = :supergay:

Bobba Booey 08-06-2009 09:00 PM

^ I agree and think it will be a conservative kit just like the one for the Z33. The Stillen kit for the Z33 is kinda of joke considering the price of the kit, new hood, and installation.

Rotrex uses centrifugal SCs. Stillen uses roots-style SCs. Can't compare the two.

NewYorkJon34 08-06-2009 11:21 PM

I have hope that Stillen's kit will be pretty good, plus vortech is starting to make a centrifugal S/C, either way I will be buying the more reliable kit :)

370Zilla 08-07-2009 12:18 AM

In my experience that would be the roots type, not the centrifugal.

NewYorkJon34 08-07-2009 06:36 AM

^ thanks for the advice, I talked to the GM at nissan who I bought the car from him, I mentioned that stillen was making a supercharger, and he said if I have the dealership install it, he would cover it under my warranty. Since stillen is know to do business at certain dealerships, and is trusted by Nissan.

RCZ 08-20-2009 09:47 AM

^ Where in Florida? Not that I would ever have it installed at a nissan dealer, but if I ever have issues...

i know the infiniti dealership here has Stillen stuff and ads all over their parts counter. they install and warranty it

shabarivas 08-25-2009 04:18 PM

Why is there no word on this yet? STILLEN WHERE ARE YOUUUU?

Josh@STILLEN 08-25-2009 04:23 PM

We're here... as always. The kit is under development. We'll have more details when we're closer to release, including pricing estimates.

We're not about creating hype before a product is develop and tested.

You leave the hyping to my anticipation then :) but care to PM me when you roughly think this might be done? whats the time frame? Months? weeks? DECADES?

^^ atleast give us anticipators that

rednek01 08-25-2009 04:52 PM

it will be interesting to see what they do with the DTB set up in these cars. that puts a damper on just slapping something on there because most kits are designed for a single throttle body I am quite interested in seeing how they handle this.

Maybe only using one and using the tuning software to turn off the second throttle body?
Or simply casting a dual intake inlet for the supercharger?

hmm...

Josh@STILLEN 08-25-2009 04:53 PM

I'll see what I can do.. but remember there are other considerations as well, CARB, etc.

Thanks for the interest, I'll pass it along as well, remind everyone people are excited..

shabarivas 08-25-2009 05:04 PM

yea definitely man - us in Cali will love you if you can give us decently priced reliable power which we wont get harassed for having on our cars... CARB ok would be soo amazing for a SC kit :) you WILL have my buisness

Red370 08-25-2009 06:51 PM

and mine as well.

Mike 08-25-2009 09:17 PM

I really loved my stillen supercharger on the 350, and its the only type I would even consider on the 370, even if I have sworn off forced induction on any more cars that didn't come with it originally.
