Anybody ran a turbo blanket on this? Or does it degrade too quickly from seeing the elements?

Don't know if there would be negative impact on anything since there is no oil flowing through the turbo...probably all in my head. They also work well at keeping engine bay temperatures down, but in this case, it is not necessary.
