Love that display. Why can't someone come out with something similar for the Z? And I know about HKS Camp II, but it's not nearly as refined.

Here's mine. It's dash command running through a pioneer HU. They actually have GTR style skins available too.

I run that system in my car as well, it works amazing.

You can also purchase a solenoid to monitor analog inputs, such as boost pressure, oil pressure, etc. Howecer I run the software off of a car computer, so I don't know if it works straight for the non computer versions.

@puckshaw - That's very nice! Is it compatible with factory nav?

Do you have to have some sort of computer running on-board? If so, where did you put that and what OS?

It runs the app off my iPhone which is connected to the head unit. The phone stays tucked away in the cubby and I can use the touch screen on the head unit to cycle through parameters. It gets all the data from a kiwi wifi obd2 reader which is linked to the phone. The dash command software is fully customizable. You can design your own gauges and choose the parameters you want. I haven't made my own yet though. It looks fairly time consuming. The free available skins are pretty nice.

Not sure how it would work with factory nav. I imagine you'd lose a lot of controls from the factory unit if you replaced it with the pioneer.

I wonder if I could just use something like an iPod touch with the standard AV inputs. Really like the ability to customize and how it looks.

So you link the kiwi wifi OBD 2 with your phone using direct wifi? What is diffrent between wifi and bluetooth odb2 beside the way they are connect to the phone. Can use my phone tconnect to wiki bluetooth and head unit (for the phone bluetooth phone function) at the same time? Sorry of off topic questions, I just don't want to install gauges on my dashboard.

The iPhone has issues connecting to obd2 over Bluetooth. It can be done through some jailbreak tweaks though. It's just easier to use wifi if you have an iPhone.

Congrats on the new car! Very different cars, but may be hard to justify keeping both, particularly given the awesome grip and power of the GTR.

I couldn't buy a used GTR. You know they have been beat up on. But they can take it.

blackonorange 07-03-2013 04:28 PM

I can't afford a new one tho :(
