-The interior will come apart and rattle letting you know to replace it ASAP AND -If you do not replace it, it can clog the pipe and actually push air backwards into the block destroying your engine. This is why you do not run HFC/RTP with boost as the heat destroys them, you open up yourself to major issues. Can you run them? Sure, they will work but be prepared for them to fail and need to replace them at some point. |
So what do you run with boost? Stock cats?
|
Here's what I don't get: how is it that all of these factory turbocharged performance cars have cats that do not burn up? Is the issue that the aftermarket just does not have access to the higher quality / more resilient cats, or is it a price prohibition, or what?

Basically you want straight pipes which have no material that can break off from heat or pressure. Even stock cats will get torn up, I have broken some already with mine. |

You learn something new every day. I still don't know why you would go through the effort of turboing the car and leave the stock cats unless you're in a state that requires it.
