The G37 you are referencing was tested on our old DynoJet. We have a Mustang dyno now that reads lower. That is why the current numbers are lower.

We charge 25 hours for installing our turbo kit. That should give you an idea on cost based on your local labor rates.

I can't wrap my mind around this. 25% of a $6800 kit is $1700, but you're limited to $3400 of credit, so you won't have enough for the kit. So technically you NEED 50% down ($3400) and then you give us $3400 credit line adding up to the price of the kit, $6800?

You are correct. Really, the financing company requires a MINIMUM of 25% down. Obviously, if there is a difference between the cost of the kit and the maximum amount they'll finance, you'll have to contribute the balance.

Yes, we provide detailed instructions with pictures. I write our manuals and since I'm not a tech by trade I don't take various steps for granted and really work to spell things out. At the same time, most people don't read walls of text, so I let some of the pictures do the describing for me as well as add diagrams as needed. Overall, I'm pretty picky when it comes to manual writing and really do my best to ensure that they are as complete and thorough as possible. In addition, our techs proof read the instruction manual with a virgin install to ensure that every aspect is covered and that the manual flows properly with what needs to be done in what order.

This just made my day!

When will this kit be made available for the G37? Will you be offering another group buy at that time?

The G37 version will be available at the same time. We just posted the press release over on the G37 forum as well. ;)

Sam, this is incredible... this really could be THE TURBO KIT for many of us.

Let us know the details.. any drilling or welding during the installation??
Does it require new engine mounts?

There is no welding required with any of our kits. We design our kits so they are effectively bolt on systems. Since this system is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, the factory motor mounts are retained as well as the factory crash bar.

Also, will the same recirc pipes for the garrett kit fit this?

Whats the boost curve difference on 16g v 18g?

Has additional testing been completed on possible boost creep issues with iwg?

The recirc pipes for this kit are different from the Garrett kit due to various factors.

As for the boost curve difference, we will be able to show that on Nixlimited's car once it is completed since his car will have the 16g's. We will also be doing additional testing and verification with that system as well.

That is indeed a sweet series of deals.

Projected installation time(s) for a professional shop?

Special concerns additional costs (e.g., AT fluid cooler?) for 7AT at those torque levels?

We charge 25 hours to install the kit in-house.

At a minimum, we recommend a transmission cooler whenever doing forced induction. Here is a link to an article I wrote on the subject of adding forced induction to automatic transmission cars: http://www.gtmotorsports.com/Technic...ansmission.pdf

Yes, of course.

Since the numbers are very similar to the Garrett kit, why would someone choose the Garrett kit over this one or this one over the Garrett kit?

Well, one of the advantages of our Garrett ball bearing kits is the fact that the ball bearing turbos will outspool the journal bearing turbos. There is no refuting that. That said, for the price, the MHI is a great way to go since you'll have money left over to put towards building up other aspects of the car (suspension, brakes, exhaust, gauges, etc). At the same time, if you are looking for ultimate performance with unbeatable spool, then our Garrett kit is the way to go.

Either way, both systems offer advantages and disadvantages. Really, the defining characteristic is going to be budget.

Thanks for bringing an affordable tt kit to the community!

Thank you for your kind words.

We are putting together some install packages that we'll be adding to our website within the next day or two. Once I've got that in hand, I can send you a PM.

Thank you sir!

Yes, we will be selling the oil pan separately.

Akmcmahon 03-20-2013 02:00 PM

I'm not as knowledgeable on these things so forgive my questions if they are obvious. Is there a difference in spool time/latency on each of the turbos? 16g, 18g, and 20g? I would think there would be but don't really know.

For the turn-key setup, is it good to go and safe with a stock setup?

What boost is the turn-key mapped at?

For the financing option 2, when would the 25% down be required? How long from when you get the group buy list together are you collecting?

Thanks for your efforts in making what looks to be an amazing product. This has made me seriously reconsider my timing on upgrades.

Red_Z 03-20-2013 02:27 PM

Is it possible to post link to the installation manual? Since I am in CA and nothing is legal, I want to see am I able to install/remove the kit by myself, in my garage.

Apoc370z 03-20-2013 02:28 PM

My poor poor poor bank account.. They will never be "full" as long as GTM is in business.

Good numbers with an affordable price, i am sure we will see a lot of TT Zs in the future

Haha right!... I wonder how much the monthly payments come up to if you give 50% down?

elperuano 03-20-2013 02:35 PM

Great kit! That price will be the selling point

I'm also interested in having installation details if this is possible.
I would like to get an installation quote with my local shop.

rAiN 03-20-2013 03:09 PM

are the clutch upgrade necessary for this kit? I will only be driving around the town with some spirit driving session.
so if i get the numbers right, 6k for the kit + 1k for the tuning + 1-2k for installation?

I think the tune is 5-600... The rest is a good estimate. U can keep stock clutch but it will wear out real quick or might not be able to hold all the power n slip.

ZKraken22 03-20-2013 04:05 PM

Never heard of financing a Turbo/ Sc kit. (I understand people just use a credit card) Does the government know your doing this??

Everybody is gonna be FI now, so many G's/Z's are gonna be turbo'd/SC that people are gonna think Nissan brought back the 300Zx!!

370zrider 03-20-2013 04:32 PM

Please post some pictures of the exhaust manifolds!. I think they are not shown on the posted pics at the beginning.

Also, do you have pics of the test car with an oil cooler installed? where can it be fitted?

blackonorange 03-20-2013 04:54 PM

Sam is their anyway to get this ASAP I'm ready to buy but need the kit ASAP.

Footloose301 03-20-2013 06:40 PM

Can anyone confirm if this kit will bolt right up to our exhaust and test pipes without buying new down pipes?

The kit is designed to bolt up to you factory cats or after market test pipes, all the components needed to make the connection is part of the kit .

Sam

Dzel 03-20-2013 07:03 PM

Do you think going with a custom 3" exhaust is a good idea?

Sam

What kind of numbers could you expect with 2.5" test pipes and a 2.5" catback, but on 93 octane? I assume that would only work with the 16g kit?

We're trying to firm up the delivery date of the kit and we'll have that information posted as soon as possible. Keep in mind that we've been developing the parts for almost a year and have multiple components in the works already. Our objective with this kit is to have it ready and available on the shelf in large quantities.

For everyone else, we have a tremendous amount of PM's and e-mails and we're trying to answer them all as quick as possible.

Sam

Where is your STS kit? I know mine is sitting in a box gathering more rust :tiphat:

blackonorange 03-20-2013 09:01 PM

I sold it, and I need the kit like now so I can get it in my car before specialty z comes up here for tuning weekend

Good choice on selling it....

blackonorange 03-20-2013 09:05 PM

Nah man I think ill miss the sound, just cause your STS experience sucked doesn't mean my did.

N8GTOL 03-20-2013 09:52 PM

Is matte black intake piping an option on these kits? What would the additional fee be for this option?

It looks like the dyno numbers are for 18gs with external wastegates. What other supporting exhaust mods were on the car? TP's and Catback? Sorry if I missed this in another post.

Are these dyno numbers with the new header design shown in the CAD screen shots in the teaser post?

Any upcoming or current installs with 16gs and internal wastegates? Really interested in seeing a dyno graph for this particular situation (i.e. replicate a CARB legal install...pending CARB approval of course). I suspect the numbers will be slightly lower (which is fine by me) just curious to see the graphs. Please also show AFR and boost vs RMP.

The intercooler plumbing out of the front mount intercoolers shown on the red Z looks different than the IC's shown in the layout photos. Which design is the more recent?

California is quickly becoming TT kit mecca for the 370z...this is awesome but we need more CARB love from our CA turbo vendors. I know you guys (and competitors) are working hard on this and I really hope it comes through for both shops in the next year or so. If it does, then your market will expand faster than you can imagine.

Serious props for making a more affordable TT kit from a reputable Z boost kit company.

Your install was garbage man there is 1000s of STS kits out there running strong . It made advertised power for cheap. I have no complaints.

You mean to tell me out of the entire kit the only thing u missed was the "sound" :icon18::ughdance:

Lol I know if I sold my kit I'd miss the sound too but that would be on the bottom of the list. Lol! Good luck gettin the new kit! I'm sure you'll feel the difference and then be able to truly enjoy a real boosted VQ motor!

430Whp on a dd is no joke, and for 7g installed (including gauges, tuning and shipping to Canada) there is no better value to this date for horsepower. People hate but a properly installed STS is pretty effing cool.

This pretty amazing. That price is ridiculous. It will be between this and the Boosted Performance kit for me. Good job GTM!

Just like Big T im getting married in Sept. My fiance would kill me if I bought ANYTHING for the car before the wedding, let alone a turbo kit lol. Its looking like it will be the beginning of next year for me.

Chemy 03-21-2013 11:50 AM

I got married about 10 months ago. She knew what she was getting into. I told her I was going to buy this kit and she gave me a hard time but finally gave me a "whatever", thats good enough for me :happydance:

Now the question is, I am mechanicly inclined and have a decent tool set, not a full set of everything by any means. Can I install this myself on jack stands with the engine in? Hrm... Thoughts?

I hope so because this is also my plan.

elperuano 03-21-2013 12:16 PM

Lol it can be done with the engine in. Makes for one of the most enjoyable experiences you'll have with the car. Please update us!

I could technically walk to work everyday. 15 mile trip. I could walk it. But why walk when I can drive comfortably.

I dont have air tools and more advanced mechanics gear. I have all sockets and wrenches.. all the hand tools you could ask for. I do have an air compressor.. Will I need to buy some tools in addition to what I have? I am ready to tackle this project!
