I see your siggy says you ran 584whp. How much tq were you making? I've put over 4k miles on my stock 7at without issue @ 450whp/450wtq. If you stay at or below 450wtq and make sure you don't forget to downshift to 4 before giving it beans on the highway, you should be fine. Staying out of peak tq range in gears 5-7 is important. My single turbo makes peak tq around 4k rpm, so as long as I remember to downshift to 4 on the highway before a pull, I'm consistently ahead of my tq curve redline shifting into 5th gear. It's deciding to gun it from cruising speed/rpm in 5th 6th or 7th that leads to slipping.

My advice is to think it carefully for those performance rebuilds. For boosted big-power Z, the most reliable way is to have a manual Z imo if you don't have a preference for autotransmission.

Does anyone have or know anyone who has experience with a built transmission from Pure Transmission?

I only just recently heard about them, and curious to know how well they hold up with high hp/tq.

So far I know of:

1. Level 10 - stay away, lots of horror stories
2. IPT - hit and miss from what hear from customers
3. RJM - seems to have gone quiet on their trans or I haven't hear anything from their 7AT customers.
4. Fast Intentions - only build inhouse
5. Pure Drivetrain Solutions - only just heard about them

Yes I know about this one too, been following it for a while.
But the setup, wiring etc sounds to be very compliacted.

I am unsure if I could trust anyone in Australia to perform such a setup, and it sounds like it is going to cost almost 2x a built 7AT setup.

Just found this blog post yesterday, and they were very responsive in getting back to me via email. They offer bellhousing modification, powder coating and they sell steel and Al driveshafts.

It’s going to be more than that for me. I found a low mileage (37k) trans for $800 delivered, driveshaft $550, oil, then figure out what I want to do for drilling housing, and that’s if I do it myself.

Keep us updated please and/or make a DIY.

Here's some more info. with video but it wasn't into a Z. Seeing the Godzilla webpage is promising that the trans fits in the Z unibody with modification.

Guess the price has gone up. The guy who first did the swap on the g37, cost him $500.

Yeah, it seems to have. Mine has 37k miles and with delivery mine was easily 50% less than all others I saw advertised for the last few months. Speaking of, just got it dropped off!
