Prior to 2009 yes, the Canadian bumpers had to be strong enough to withstand a 8km/h (5mph) impact without sustaining any damage vs. the 4km/h (2.5mph) standard in the U.S.
2009+ will all be the same since Canada changed the regulation to be more in line with the U.S and international standards. However, I was able to import my 2006 350z (a few years back) without issue. If the bumper was weaker on the U.S mode, there would have been a ban on importing the car to Canada since it would not comply with the federal regulations.

Okay thank you for your post BP. Now Im concerned why the installer at this shop had to charger x number of extra hours for welding/modifying the IC assembly. They said they wont know if my kit needs to be modified until they try fitting it with all the pieces bolted up.
Its hard to argue with the shop when they already have your car in pieces. Anyways Ill make the point when I go to drop off the vehicle and hope for the best |
