Default Canadian 370z hard to buy?

Hello all;
I just registered because I thought I had purchased a 2012 touring base 6mt in Hakone white. Unfortunately, I just found out that I can't get a car until August. I have found the same problem with other sports cars from other manufacturers as well. Is this just a Canadian problem or is this the same in the US? I'll have to look for something else if things don't improve with the sales experience here.
Sorry to whine in my first post.

My dealership told me (bought 3 weeks ago) that delivery should be 6-10 weeks. Never said anything about August, although they said the latest id have to wait is July if they cant find any cars that match my leather and color preference

My local dealer has three 370z's on the lot right now. 1 PW and 2 PG.

I would expand my search if I was you.

Edit: I'm not sure of the colour names, 1 is white the other 2 are the dark silver.

Perhaps the dealership is less than enthusiastic about ordering a car that is not fully loaded? My suspicions are that they hope a "scare story" of poor availability will convince me to purchase one of the local cars that have higher option levels. I guess I will have to get a better agreement from them in writing or move on to someone else. I factory ordered to get exactly what I want, and the 8 - 12 week wait works for me because of an ongoing basement renovation that is occupying one half of my garage right now. Why does every interaction with a car dealer leave me feeling manipulated?

Well I would check into another dealer anyways. See what they say, then use that information to get the best deal you can from either dealership. It's always better to have some leverage.

Time to update;
The dealer did what he could but could not guarantee me a factory order before August. Luckily, he got a lightly used 2011 with the options I wanted. Still smells like leather inside and it's sitting on my driveway already. Nice car. I test drove the 370, 2012 mustang gt and the golf r. The 370 was definitely the best combination of power, handling, interior appointments and overall quality. In my humble opinion anyway.

Well, used ones are no problem in the Edmonton area. There are 15 for sale right now.

I'm from Fort McMurray, and wanted to buy a new Nismo, but just found out that they dont make them in Canada anymore , has anybody heard if 2013 will have a Nismo in Canada, I want one so bad I can taste it. I;m just starting to educate myself now about the car, as I owned the 280ZX back in 1982, and was looking to go full circle..any thoughts, opinions would be appreciated...Thanks

Congrats big guy!!!!!!! I believe from what I heard that Canada will probably get thw Nismo in 2013. FYI.... Do not hold me to it. I would ask the dealerships around you for reassurance.

How hard is it for you guys from the frozen north to slip over the border and say buy a US model in Buffalo, Detroit, or Seattle and import it?
