Ok so thats why your saying the AEM BC wont hold boost, or didnt hold boost, because you physically can't adjust it for the rpms to compensate for the loss of boost. Makes sense. Thanks for explaining that to me. Repped sir.

I have never used the AEM unit, but I would assume being it is electronic rather then mechanical, that it has a gain function that would allow you to raise boost pressure up top if it is falling in upper rpms.

Yeah, it is an oldie now.

I have started fabrication on ten kits, and will do my best to get these finished as soon as possible. However, quality will always come before quantity...and quality always takes a bit longer.

I am thinking of taking deposits in May. At this time (once a deposit is received) I would send the following items:

Oil pan spacer
RTV (for oil spacer install)
Oil cooler
All oil lines
Fuel injectors
Fuel pump
Fuel pump correction kit
UpRev tuner cables
Manuals
Drill/tapp kit for the intake manifold (BOV vacuum source)

and a few other small items...

This would allow the DIY guys to get most of the stuff out of the way, and ready for the easy part...the pipes (both exhaust and intercooler).

The car can be then checked for any oil leaks, and proper function of pumps, inectors cooling system..ect. After that the rest of the kit would follow. Installing the piping is rather easy/straight forward so it would not take long at all.

Sweet I'm leaning to taking to The Shop I told you about but I would really love to install this with a buddy of mine that works on after market turbos on pick ups

Cbtech 03-25-2013 04:59 PM

Sasha i sent you an email.

I did put heat wrap on the piping underneath the transmission just for good measure. The car is a beast and by the end of the day I was getting used to it and nobody in my run group was able to pass me. It took a while to learn to modulate the throttle appropriately out of the turns since the boost comes on so quick. Once I got that figured out it is very driveable and quick quick quick!

ENT-Z, Tell us about those cars you shamed on the track...:excited:

The only 2 worthy competitors in my run group were a new Boss 302 (very fast track car) and a modified 300z TT putting down 450whp according to the owner. The Boss was faster than me in the morning but I was quicker by the end of the day, though not by much. I never had much respect for Mustangs, but that Boss did change my mind.

ENT-Z 03-25-2013 09:09 PM

For what it's worth I'm using an HKS EVC-S and it seems to do the job okay and for significantly less money than the more featured EVC.

Wow. More great news and I'm just stoked to hear reports that you can track with a boosted Z and no issues. Add to that keeping up with a boss means traction was there too. Awesome stuff.

You kind of whp you run to keep it all pragmatic, like no heat or traction issues?

Recirculation is standard with this kit. Going with open dump tubes would be cheaper.

Baer383 04-02-2013 08:07 PM

I'm really thinking of selling my GTM SC and replace it with your kit.

This is a really well thought out kit with top notch parts plus it will give me something to do when the winter comes.

I totally agree with you. This is my first choice then the F.I. TT followed by the GTM MHI kit. Price, power level, and engineering all played apart on my decision.

Mitco39 04-02-2013 10:02 PM

Gotta say, put about 100kms on this kit and it is amazing. Cant wait to get it tuned.

Nut_N_Much 04-03-2013 12:59 PM

This brings up something I have been wondering...

I know the base tune is pretty much designed to get you to the tuner and check for leaks, etc...

But Sasha, how close is it? Can we flog on it a bit with this tune?

Hey hey hey...you better watch it there with the long winter crap. I have had enough of it. 6 month of snow on the ground is plenty.

One of my customers will be going down to R/T tuning for a custom tune with the kit. Once this car is tuned, the base maps will be very good, since they are built right from scratch by one of the best UpRev tuners around. This will become the base map.

So good we wouldn't need to dyno tune our setup if we didn't want to?

I have noticed that it is super rich under load, other than that no real issues with the current base tune, no codes or anything like that. I have been doing my best to stay out of the power in gears higher than 4, and I am only running about 6-7psi of boost currently.

Shes getting tuned the end of this month, and with snow back in the forcast she wont see much road time.

I would still encourage customers to put the car on the dyno just to make sure everything is good. There are a lot of variable when it comes to tuning....and it is always best to make sure everything is right before going out and pushing things.

Who's tuning your car? where at?

wheee! 04-04-2013 07:27 AM

The local Z Car Club is hosting a Tuning Weekend with Greg and Seb from Specialty Z out of California. We are flying them in to tune our cars and hang out in the frozen north for a few days! Great guys and they are awesome tuners... we usually have enough cars to keep them busy for 3 days straight, 8-10 hrs a day!
Mitco was the first one to sign on (literally, minutes after I posted!) lol

Details are posted in the Zedmonton Lounge

Dzel 04-04-2013 08:55 AM

That's awesome the Z Club down here in Texas does this one in awhile to!

I'm getting a little worried about the base tune. It'll be months till I'm able to get to a tuner and I run this car as my DD.
